Sen. John Kerry released the following statement in response to Sen. Barack Obama's victory:

"Tonight we elected a President who has inspired a majority of Americans with his vision and policies, a man who is principally a leader for these times who happens to also be African American; and because of America's stunning ability to move on and transform, to write a new chapter of our history, Barack Obama will be President during the 50th anniversary of the Civil Rights movement and the 150th anniversary of the Civil War.

We should thank Kerry for introducing Barack Obama 4 years ago.

I think that there's a chance that Kerry could be picked for Secretary of State.

John Kerry is a TRUE statesman.

The Dems have the potential to create the most world respected group of statesmen the us has every seen.
The depth, the knowledge, the drive (the good kind) is just amazing.

YES WE CAN!!!

I've ALWAYS liked and respected John Kerry. I'm glad a man of his intellect is going to be a part of the government during this time.

John Kerry won in 2004.

If we had had a CNN voter problems hotline and all the attention and action on election fraud in 2004 the world would be a different place and he'd be about to start his second term.

At least we fixed our mistake of 2004, yesterday.

No one knows better about the divisive campaigning and voter theft!!! I loved his speech at the DNC! I am so happy to have been part of this!

What makes me so proud is that I shared this with my children who all voted for Obama! They are so proud, but I don't know if they realize how important this win was, not just for the fact that we now have an African American president, but we have a future!!!

Why do you think the college kids voted Obama? They wanted jobs when they get out of school!!!!!

"Tonight we elected a President who has inspired a majority of Americans with his vision and policies, a man who is principally a leader for these times who happens to also be African American;"

That summed it up to me and it is a BEAUTIFUL thing. Now lets all roll our sleeves up and work together to rebuild our truly UNITED States of America.

I am so blessed to have witnessed this.

I'm glad that Senator Kerry has been re-elected to the Senate, and I'm even more glad that our beloved Senator Kennedy is here to enjoy President-elect Obama's historic victory!

Congratulations America.

I have published my comments on http://fatherslove.freeforums.org/a-turning-momemnt-t488.html#3119 where I share parallels of what happens now and what happened in South Africa.

It is going to take time but you are at the dawning of a new day, the road is long, with many a winding turn...

The energy that has been displayed in the ground game and here needs to be maintained and not wait another two/four years to do it all again.

There is no turning back - change is inevitable - resistance is futile.

Blessings
