People are talking about the youth vote not showing up at the polls. Remember that schools across the nation are allowing students to vote on campus. Many universities have polling stations on the grounds.

Also, many students have decided to vote with their friends at particular times -- student voting parties, so to speak.

I think this is made up to make the polls look narrower than they are. Most of the volunteers I've worked with on the Obama campaign are students and they are very dedicated to this cause. The students won't let us down.

I, too, told my daughter, a PSU senior, to get her a** out there, and vote! She has done me proud...it does give you chills to see all the young people in line...This is the most amazing election i can ever remember. Just please keep the hockey mom out of the white house, she scares me!

Way to go Penn State!! Even though you beat us a few weeks ago (OSU)...great job on getting out to vote! You know what?? I have come up on an idea! Every year OSU and Michigan do a blood drive right before the big game and whoever donates the most wins. Well they should do something like that with all of the colleges(but with voting) and whoever turns out more students to vote is the winner. It couldn't hurt to try something like that!

Do something really good for Community Service for your college/university found or join a chapter of Alpha Phi Omega the National Co-Ed Community Service Fraternity.. and get out the Vote with us at campuses all across the country! Not only this year - but every year - MAKE A DIFFERENCE - VOTE! It's politicians who count on you NOT VOTING that helps them pass bills that ruin our economy and make themselves and big unscrupulous businesses rich... VOTE AND CHANGE THIS - it's YOUR Future!

I canvassed in State College, PA this weekend and the ground game was impressive. Every door I knocked on had been visited earlier in the weekend and had literature. Friends and neighbors had out of town workers sleeping on their floors. I saw nothing from McCain/Palin all weekend and the place was crawling with Obama supporters. Centre County is going to help bring PA home tonight.

Before the next pres, election this country has got to come up with a different way to vote. These lines are way to long. If we can pay our bills and taxes over the internet why can't we vote that way?

Comments all over the news and as well as Huffpost are rich with expectations of Senator Obama. But as soon as the initial giddiness wears off, the hard work will begin and this initial euphoria will quickly wane. Why? Because the inertia of the system will throw up road blocks at every attempt at changing the status quo and any initial changes will be modest at best and will not live up to the high hopes and expectations of his supporters.
Nevertheless, only if supporters are patient and feel morally obliged to continue their support will anything substantial come of it. It is important to keep the faith because the complexity and depth of the problems created by the last administration are enormous and only time, patience and a high level of personal sacrifice will ever bring them to a resolution.
I have voted in fifteen presidential elections dating back to 1948 and have never been involved in one as important as this one for the future of my grandchildren in particular, the country in general and the world at large. I don’t think I will live to see very many of these problems solved, but I have immense hope and trust in the Obama administration that I will see some initial progress.
And when I see the turnout of young voters today, I have some confidence that things will change for the better, hopefully sooner rather than later.

Nobody ever said it was gonna be easy. Doing something important never is. But if Obama has a Democratic House and Senate to work with this election could be a turning of the tide in American politics similar to 1932 and 1980.

People are personally invested in Obama and his presidency. He will have our patience and support as he sorts out the mess he will inherit.

Palin's a little too old to excite this crowd and McCain a little too boring.

I'm sure this is happening all over the country. This is one reason why the polls don't show the true size of the Obama lead. Most of these kids don't have land lines and are never contacted by pollsters. The actual size of the Obama lead might be on the order of 15-18 points.
