Palin

Love her or hate her, you could not ignore Sarah Palin and her role in the White House race.

She turned out to be an even bigger draw on the campaign trail than John McCain, the name above hers on the Republican presidential ticket.

With this morning's election defeat, Mr McCain's last chance at the presidency disappeared.

At 72, he would have been America's oldest first term president. His unsuccessful campaign now dooms him to spend his declining years in Washington as a maverick railing against the Obama administration.

What's next for Gov. Palin? Well...maybe Hugh Hefner will offer her a pictoral in his magazine.

I have this gut feeling that if you thought the exposed Palin in a political way was a turn-off, the Playboy spread would really make you ill.

Okay I have read enough of all you crazy people bashing Ms. Palin. I'm not sure if your all serious or if you all are escapees from some mental institution. I really hope this much hatred of one person isn't the reflection of all people who supported Obama. If it is we're in for a hell of a disastrous time these next four years. I can imagine what you all would be saying about Oprah if she had backed McCain instead of Obama. Or I'm thinking would it have been McCain who would have won . Well we'll never know now will we. I mean I don't hear Oprah spewing this much hatred about Ms. Palin. Maybe you all should take notice of this, or maybe not. Ms. Palin is just Human like you, me. Oprah, Obama, McCain. So we'll have to work something out if were gonna make it through these next few years. Now before you start throwing daggers at me let me say I voted for Obama, but I don't hate Ms. Palin. Just the opposite I respect her for what she achieved, she just came up short just like all of us have sometime in our lives. Don't hate people. It's easier to smile. So I'll finish defending Ms. Palin, and leave all you hate mongers to ponder what you all typed either in anger, or you really actually feel the way you do. GOD BLESS YALL !!!!!!!!! and GOD BLESS AMERICA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't hate Palin, I was just scared to death that she would have power over decisions that would affect the lives of me and my family, my daughters, and my grandson. I'm happy that she will be governing Alaska and not the USA. I was scared to death of her Christian-zealot beliefs about End Times and Armageddon, believing that it will happen in her lifetime, and working towards fulfillment of the apocalypse.

I don't hate her, either - I hope in fact to see a WHOLE lot less hating going on by everyone, on both sides, because it is just a continuation of the demonizing the right-wingers have been so good at. I think we should let Barack be our guide -- he doesn't hate! Hating ultimately hurts the haters.

I also was terrified of the choice of Sarah Palin as a possible vice president, appalled by her ignorance, and I don't share any of her views about religion, the environment, education, abortion ... you name it. And I'll be very glad to see her go back on home to Alaska. On the other hand, her selection gave Obama one more boost, so for that I'm kind of grateful. Call her a wild, weird asterisk, at least for now.

Maybe we can elect her president, and a prank call will convince her that WW111 has started, and she will launch a first strike! To all you pro-Palin posters,I really hope she becomes the face of what is left of the white boy southern electoral map that the Republican Party just became owners of. Being out of touch is one thing, hoping that America will turn back to the politics of fear and racism is quite another. I am 61, and have lived through Nixon, Wallace, and most of all, W. Last night, America reclaimed her soul, and it would certainly be a wonderful world if the major roadblock in the path of progress was Palin. You go girl, I would relish the chance to watch you play on a national stage without filters and protection. And to all you Obama haters, your'e gonna miss out on the experience of a lifetime , the chance to participate in a real government that listens to its people. Have a nice time being bitter and irrelevant.

My apologies if someone has already suggested this, but I think a rousing rendition of The Monkees' Steppin' Stone is "tailor-made" for the occasion (wink, wink)!!

C'mon, SOME of you must remember this classic:

"You're trying to make your mark in society
Using all the tricks that you used on me.
You're reading all those high fashion magazines
The clothes you're wearin' girl are causing public scenes.

I said
I I I I I'm not your stepping stone
I I I I I'm not your stepping stone
Not your stepping stone,
Not your stepping stone.

When I first met you girl you didn't have no shoes
Now you're walking 'round like you're front page news.
You've been awful careful 'bout the friends you choose
But you won't find my name in your book of Who's Who.

I said
I I I I I'm not your stepping stone
I I I I I'm not your stepping stone
Not your stepping stone,
Not your stepping stone."

I think she should go back to Alaska and try to salvage whatever goodwill she still has with the people of Alaska. For whatever it's worth, I think she has no future on the national stage--not now, not ever. For the governor of Alaska not to know the names of the Prime Ministers of Canada and Quebec is simply unacceptable. That she hired someone to answer her phone who doesn't have the ability to Google such simple facts on the Internet shows that her future as an executive is bleak.
