I Like ItI Don’t Like It

"Saturday Night Live" had a Monday night, Election Eve special Presidential Bash. All the candidates stopped by, from the real Sarah Palin and John McCain to Fred Armisen's Obama Amy Poehler's Hillary Clinton (it was pretaped).

Below are clips of each candidate's appearance.

Will Forte's John Edwards stopped by to explain his affair and possible love child:

Amy Poehler's Hillary Clinton was the host, talking about her Obama support and talked 2012:

The real, not Tina Fey Sarah Palin delivered a message, and talked about how SNL made fun of her:

Fred Armisen's Obama and Darrell Hammonds' Chris Matthews came together, with Matthews telling Obama just how much he loved his speech (it involves masturbation):

The real John McCain's message:

And Jason Sudeikis' Joe Biden:

And a montage of great SNL election moments, introduced by Obama and McCain:

Palin was kind of creepy. Yikes!

I agree. She scared the $@&! out of me. Not one funny second in that entire Palin segment.

OMG....6 more hours! I'm starting to lose it.

I think she was being serious.

She sounded serious about carrying out a vendetta against SNL and their network, all right. In light of Troopergate, an obsessive vendetta against her ex-brother-in-law, one gets the sense that Sarah Palin means it. Very, very scary for those who love freedom. The worst VP candidate choice since Aaron Burr.

She was recently cleared of any wrong doing in the troopergate scandal. :)

Lame, all of them, just lame. SNL has two great skits with Tina Fey and they go on a tear with all these other politicians, and it just doesn't work. Sad.

I think that the Biden performance in the VP debate was pretty funny. I also thought that Will Ferrel as Bush was brilliant.

Palin was creepy and chilling. Yuck. McCain was a good sport. I felt like the old skits about politicians back before W were given short shrift. Akroyd's Carter was genius as was Carvey's GHWB. (Na gah duit)

Palin was scary because I think she really believed what she was saying.
She didn't appear to realize it was supposed to be joke.

Can't wait until that scary chick gets sent packin'.

either the lines they wrote for sarah weren't funny or she didn't deliver them well.

A little of both, I think. Mostly, though, the issues are that (1) she's got no sense of humor about herself and (2) she has only one way of delivering lines: nasty and mean-spirited.

I'm sorry, you guys can hate me all you want, but just like my dog I find I can't stay angry at McCain when he does stupid stuff. Also the Sarah Palin skit wasn't all that funny, i agree, but now I really really really wanna screw the crazy out of her. For some reason untempered crazy is very hot coming from her.

Best was Mathews impression, the worse, without any humor , Palin herself !

I'm in comlplete agreement with everyone here...Sarah Palin was CREEPY. At first I thought I was misreading her "comedy" but the reaction from the studio audience was pretty telling. Very few laughs and those were stifled (as if they weren't sure whether they were supposed to be laughing or not). The more Sarah talked, the more I looked at my wife in amazement. We were both thinking...She's not joking here...she really wants to shut down the free press and turn Fox noise into the US version of Pravda. Vote this woman OFF the island today, please!

So...Palin is creppy and not so bright , the joke was on her , and she doesn`t even know it. Go back tp Alaska and take Joe, not the plummer , with you.

Palin was terrible. She approaced the "skit" like a political speech which made it too abrasive to be comedic. I wonder if she did this live or if it was taped. Audience reaction is so important when you're trying to be funny, because that's how you gauge your success and tweak your performance as it goes on.

I don't think she was given particularly good material but she did not deliver it well either. Hopefully this is the last time she will be on network TV for a long time.

We got a glimpse of what this beast would do if given the reigns of power. You betcha!. Buh-bye Sarah!

Palin wasn't funny at all. She was creepy.

I agree. I felt Palin wasn't joking about censoring NBC if she got into office. She didn't smile or say it in an ironic way at all. Her dead serious tone highlighted that.

I agree. That was just weird. She wasn't quirky enough to be funny, and the words she spoke seemed to just be her talking like she was giving her own commentary. SNL is not your platform.

I don't think Palin was bad at all.

Last night, as my wife and I were watching this show, the DVR was messing up and the volume wasn't working correctly. All we could really do was see her and not hear what she was saying. She looked peaved and a bit menacing without the volume. We both looked at each other and wondered WTF? Now, after hearing the volume, I think she bombed. It did not seem funny, but almost real, like she was really peaved at SNL. If this was supposed to be funny, it wasn't. McCain came off as a good sport, and funny but in a loser kind of way. But, Palin came off bad, just bad. I hope that after today, I won't have to see her for at least another 4 years. Did anyone notice that she really tried to drop the folksy accent? Is it real or fake? How does she really speak? Palin, don't go away mad, just go away.
