Are you sure? Please tell me you're sure. I've been driving around here in San Diego looking for this thing!

New York City and Atlanta, and Washington D.C. had lines of people at the city newspaper headquarters trying to purchase newspapers. They reprinted 100,000 in New York City and sold out within two hours.
Amazing! Some newspapers are being sold on Ebay for as much as $100 a pop!

If we could go back in time and get all of our former Presidents and put them in a room with the Presidents that are alive now including President Obama (It's still fascinating to write that) what do you think they all would say, given that they are briefed about each others presidency's and given the nature of the transformation of America as a society?

That would be an interesting discussion indeed

I will be buying that. I'm saving my local paper too for my kids. I've put together a history bag for them so they can look back on this after I'm gone.

This is going to be great reading. Just one question though. I wonder what they did with the McCain edition? I'd vote for the shredder.

Gave it to Joe the Plumber, I'd imagine. Looked for him last night at the concession speech; where are you, Joe?

Barack Obama has such austere yet kind eyes. He has a smile that can light up a nation. We've been given the oil of joy as we face the future to replace the mourning of the last eight years. God is shining his heart on us, giving us strength to believe in the greatness of love, unity and understanding. Yes, we can. All we have to do is open our hearts and minds to what is obvious.

OFF TOPIC....I am watching Lou Dobbs for the first time in months just to see him eat crow. I can't believe how complimentary he's being about President Elect Obama and 'his beautiful family'. My God, what next. Is he hoping for an interview with President Obama at some time in the future.

Lou does nothing but complain about what he dislikes and he himself has no solutions. I'm suprised at his compliments of O.

I also observed that, especially when he smiles and laughs. And during his speech last night, he was such a different person. He was a person of stability and firmness. He was more comfortable and gracious in channeling optimism to the crowd. He was not arrogant as we have seen in his initial speeches. Two years has reshaped him into a more genuine inspiration and transformational figure to everyone.

His sister says he gets his calm demeanor from his grandmother. He is one calm man. Reminds me of my husband.

It seemed to me last night that his manner of speaking and seriousness was different from most of his speeches, but was similar in tone to one other speech he gave: his "Speech of Race". I think it comes down to how personal the speech felt to him on both occassions, compared to most of his speeches which are more rhetorical, more about policy and the future, etc. These two speeches seemed to me to be more about who he is and what he believes and how he feels. He seemed a bit it awe last night, amazed, but also very aware of the enormous task that lies ahead of him. I would image he was also thinking at times of his grandmother, and that she didn't survive one more day to be able to witness that occassion that she helped to shape.

Geez, he's gorgeous. Is it okay to say that about a President-elect?

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 05:19 PM on 11/05/2008

Yes but u have to add that he is sexy and quite charming with that.

He is the most physically appealing president (elect) we have ever had. Let's face it: this is a big reason why he is so popular. His intellect is outstanding and first rate but his smile is AMAZING and can turn your knees to Jello. McCain was right about one thing: Obama IS the biggest celebrity in the world. It is safe to say he is the most famous person on the planet right now.

I can't find a Chicago Tribune anywhere....egads! I was there last night and bought $100 worth of shirts and buttons on the street. What a wonder-ful time for America....

and now SP can get her little asska back to Alaska.
Yippee...no more having to listen to her voice.
