I Like ItI Don’t Like It

Karl Rove reacted to Barack Obama's win Tuesday night on Fox News, saying "every American ought to celebrate tonight."

"It is a hopeful and optimistic thing for our country, and for the world it's a great symbol of what America's all about," Rove said, urging all Americans to hope and pray for Obama's success.

Rove's comments did center on race, and the post-racial America Obama inherits as President. He also claimed that "we've had an African American first family for many years," citing the Cosby Show as one example.

"He is young, he is aspirational, and Americans have invested a lot in him, but they still have doubts," Rove said. "He's got a big hurdle to climb."

CNN did two surveys, pre and post election to determine if the election was mostly racial. The surveys turned out the same and they proved that racial preference made no difference in voting for Obama. The GOP just can't believe that white America voted for a biracial man or that black people voted for him because of race. Get over it.

Karl Rove, Cheney and Bush will go down in history as something not kind to America.

Words of class by Rove.

Classless response by PuffPosters. No surprise.

The only black family that Rove has ever been exposed to is the Cosby family, which is fictional. Rove is a sociopath. He would physically harm his own mother to win an election.

There seems to be a desire by the right to define this simply as a race issue, presumably because then they don`t have to accept that the better candidate won regardless of race. Capitalizing on black pride, they are trying to reduce this victory for the heartfelt brilliance to something more shallow than the triumph over the need to bring race into it at all--which was Obama`s real victory, in the name of progress.

I think there is a lot of truth in your remark, Tiger. I felt that McCain's concession speech, which many here have praised, was overly focused on the racial issue. It makes them sound generous while at the same time dismissing the achievement. It's sort of like saying "look how well he did, for a Black man."

Agreed. If they focus on this as a triumph for African Americans over all else, they don't have to own up to the astounding repudiation of their failed policies.

No question about it. By identifying this election as a racial one that are, as they so often do, projecting. We didn't elect Obama because he's black; we elected him AND he's black. And he didn't win because we cared more about black rights than we did about our "conservative values." And people who think we elected him because he's black are telling us something about themselves, not about us.

Has Karl ever watched a track and field meet? The athletes don't "climb" hurdles, they clear them.

I doubt if he's ever been on a track.
Probably spent most of his time in the cafeteria.

Isn't there a suponea waiting for you Karl?

Can't we just tar and feather this deplorable example of humanity and ride him out of town on a rail permanently. Roe represents all of the WORST in politics - hate, division, smears, cheating...... he deserves his own special place in hell for lowering the bar in US politics and institutionalizing the politics of division.

The man whose dirty political slime resulted in the replacement of "Orwellian" with "Rovian" for all political double-speak and lies concedes racial politics but not the spirited reaction against his own desultory politic.

His comment is a backhanded slap attributing race as the primary cause and the victory in this election.

Hurdle? Come on Karl, why dontcha admit you and the boys drove the bus into a very deep ditch? And by the way, is there any lower form of human life lower than a person who uses every dirty trick in the book to defeat an adversary and then sucks up to him/her when they succeed (notwithstanding the despicable and unfair attacks on their character)?
