I Like ItI Don’t Like It

Karl Rove reacted to Barack Obama's win Tuesday night on Fox News, saying "every American ought to celebrate tonight."

"It is a hopeful and optimistic thing for our country, and for the world it's a great symbol of what America's all about," Rove said, urging all Americans to hope and pray for Obama's success.

Rove's comments did center on race, and the post-racial America Obama inherits as President. He also claimed that "we've had an African American first family for many years," citing the Cosby Show as one example.

"He is young, he is aspirational, and Americans have invested a lot in him, but they still have doubts," Rove said. "He's got a big hurdle to climb."

Screw Rove and his "symbols!"

The Republican penchant for focusing on the image instead of the substance and manipulating the voting public with those symbols is what got us all into this mess in the first place. Obama is not a "symbol." He's a brilliant, once-in-a-generation leader.

Someone should staple that man's foul lips together.

In these comments, Rove displays extraordinary chutzpah and gall. He goes on about how far the U.S. has come in race relations and asserts that many Americans, especially young people, don't look at race the same diseased way that people did decades ago. Isn't this the same man who consistently advises his candidates to use the race card in election campaigns? If he really believes what he's telling Wallace, then he's even more cynical and contemptible than his detractors already believe he is. Further, it is baffling that interviewers like Wallace allow him to sit there and pontificate piously about a "post-racial" America without calling him on his own despicable record of fomenting racism across the country.

To all my fellow Americans who made it happen....

I see trees of green........ red roses too
I see em bloom..... for me and for you
And I think to myself.... what a wonderful world.

I see skies of blue..... clouds of white
Bright blessed days....dark sacred nights
And I think to myself .....what a wonderful world.

The colors of a rainbow.....so pretty ..in the sky
Are also on the faces.....of people ..going by
I see friends shaking hands.....sayin.. how do you do
Theyre really sayin......i love you.

I hear babies cry...... I watch them grow
Theyll learn much more.....than Ill never know
And I think to myself .....what a wonderful world

A whole lot more than Ill never know)
And I think to myself .....what a wonderful world
Yes I think to myself .......what a wonderful world

Me, too. One of my 3 favorite songs of all time. The other two are In My Life by The Beatles, and Waterloo Sunset by The Kinks.

It would have been nice had Rove added "I look forward to observing his Administration from an undisclosed location as I flee likely prosecution from the investigations about to commence on January 21st"

Rove can crawl back into his hole and stay there. Why would anyone ask this liar anything? This is the man that orchestrated the Bush Campaign and put Evil Dick in charge of the country for the last 7.75 years - does he think the Ombama/Biden administration will listen to the man that rigged that 2000 elections?

Karl Rove, gracious in defeat. Long may he practice his new role.
Why do we still care what he thinks?

Peace

He wasn't gracious when he referred to the Crosby's. He was condescending. Kark Rove does not speak from the heart. He is a sociopath. He has no conscience.

Sawdust, I share your antipathy for Rove. Hopefully, the independent prosecutor whose investigating the illegal attorney general firings will snare him. If not, Rove's fate is in Obama's hands. Obama must uncover the Bush/Rove illegalities!

Isnt all the hate that Obama said we need to turn away from need to stop? What is going on? Now is the time to stop and say yes we can, and move past the bitterness and divisive words!

It's not a matter of hate with Rove, or Bush, or Cheney, or Rumsfeld, or Addington, or Gonzales, or Libby, or Wolfowitz, or Peif, and the list goes on and on. It's a matter of law.

These people broke the law and brought this country to its knees. They are responsible for massive election fraud, the destruction of another country, torture, illegal wiretapping of US citizens, outting of CIA agents, the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people, the movement of over 2 MILLION Iraqis as refugees to other countries, the distrust of the REST OF THE ENTIRE WORLD, economic collapse, mercenary armies operating in the US, the DESTRUCTION THE US CONSTITUTION, the politization of our federal government and brought us to the brink of total fascism.

These people are criminals and they should be required to pay for their crimes against humanity. That's not hateful, it's necessary if we are to be a nation of laws. If we are no longer a nation of laws, then we are nothing.

To even equate a freakin TV show to what Senator Obama has accomplished is pathetic. I had almost lost hope in our country. 8 yrs of division, destruction, classless politics, and the GOP's lurch to the far extreme right have finally pissed of the people enough to CHANGE. The election of Obama reaffirms my hope for a better nation, a better discourse, and a better world for my 3 yr old daughter. Change has come to america, I hope all Obama supporters buckle down and reject the instict to "rub it in"

It speaks to his view of the office.
Palin is clearly no Thomas Jefferson.
Even so, they picked her simply as an image to market as they would a Mini Mouse logo.
Rove as a good servant sees a world where transnational corporaions run everything.the His, "Powers that be" only need to find an actor, a cowboy, a cheerleader or any appealing image to run. Rove and Co. feel they can sell it to the stupid since it makes no difference who actually holds office. The candidate will only be doing as they are told and present an image for the TV.
Who ever believed Bush was calling the shots? He can barely express himself.
Rove is also taking the opportunity to offer a back handed insult to Obama and his family.
Cosby was an intelligent clown but still a clown.
Rove hopes to offer an image for neo-cons to cling to while not looking too racist. "The Cosbys" were loveable, after all.
Legitimate news is likening them to the JFK family.
It is one thing to talk about working together but this thing is just starting a new chapter.
Enough Americans are facing the Trickle down reality, they are not so vulnerable to the GOP images this time and seem to be more open to reasoning.
For super propagandists and salesmen like Rove, today is but a challenge.
He is just warming up.

Rove and his protege's got their comeuppance last night. Maybe that sad blip in history will truely be behind us now. Rove relied on campaigns that point out our differences. For two election cycles he picked at the scab of racism and divisiveness until it bled, giving him his 15 minutes of fame. 62 million Americans thumbed their nose at Karl and company last night. Hey, Karl, is your resume' up-to-date? I hear McDonald's is hiring. Can you say "You want fries with that?"

But is wasn't just an f-you, it was a overwhelming denial of the narrow, dishonest and cynical behavior of these people. It was the American electorate finally standing up enmass and saying we don't believe your lies and your fearmongering and your hate. We choose the right path. The INTELLIGENT path. The path of our survival as a nation and probably our survival as a species.

Think of all the bad things Bush did on this planet and think of Obama's ability to change them for the better! Amazing.

I'd call Rush Limbaugh, if he'd actually take my call, and tell him that, INDEED, OBAMA'S IS THE NEW WORLD ORDER and the hatemongers, like himself, better get ready for a change.
