Obama: "We Can't Solve Global Warming Because I F---ing Changed Light Bulbs In My House"

While most of Newsweek's behind-the-scenes Special Election Project reporting reveals serious campaign issues on both sides, there's one funny moment when Barack Obama talks candidly about dumb debate questions:

The debates unnerved both candidates. When he was preparing for them during the Democratic primaries, Obama was recorded saying, "I don't consider this to be a good format for me, which makes me more cautious. I often find myself trapped by the questions and thinking to myself, 'You know, this is a stupid question, but let me ... answer it.' So when Brian Williams is asking me about what's a personal thing that you've done [that's green], and I say, you know, 'Well, I planted a bunch of trees.' And he says, 'I'm talking about personal.' What I'm thinking in my head is, 'Well, the truth is, Brian, we can't solve global warming because I f---ing changed light bulbs in my house. It's because of something collective'."

If the censorship isn't good enough for you I'm at a loss. Do we pretend he didn't say it, or do we scratch around for a euphemism that will suffice? (Good luck with that one). Like it or not, it's a part of our language, used by the greatest writers throughout time. If used in context and not to extreme, I find it perfectly acceptable. I take it you're not a follower of "The Daily Show", you would be offended for the entire show.
As the Scottish comedian Billy Connelly once said (and I'm quoting from memory) "If someone can come up with a substitute, that carries the same weight and impact as 'F*ck off', I'll gladly use it. It sure as hell isn't 'Go away'. You never hear 'F*ck off, he hinted' do you?" Well said Billy.

Obama was a master at being careful not to say the wrong thing. That's a big part of why he/we won. But, I'd love to hear him speak more freely off message.
