Chicago Tribune:

Gov. Rod Blagojevich said today he's "not interested" in appointing himself to replace Barack Obama in the U.S. Senate, but did not expressly rule out the option.

The governor held a news conference to say he's setting up a committee of senior staff members to vet potential Obama successors. Blagojevich said some candidates already have approached him and the administration about the opening, but he declined to say who.
