CNN:

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid will likely meet later this week with Joe Lieberman to discuss whether the Democrat-turned-Independent will be stripped of his Senate committee chairmanship, a senior Democratic leadership aide tells CNN.

Lieberman currently chairs the Senate's Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee.

This aide says that Reid, who is calling the meeting, has not yet decided what to do. The aide admits that the decision will be determined in part by the final election results -- and just how close the party is to a filibuster-proof 60-seat majority -- but insists that the biggest factor involved is lingering anger among Senate Democrats over Lieberman's Republican convention speech.

Joe Lieberman screwed Obama, the guy who helped you win your senate independent seat when no one else would. Reid should kick him to the curb. Joe the turncoat Lieberman's political career is over when his term's up.

Give him Sarah Palin's notorious RNC bought wardrobe. Maybe he can find a turncoat in it.

It's a matter of integrity and principle. He hasn't earned seniority in the Democratic Party, and others, who have, should be given the authority they've earned.

Granted, he ran as an independent and won. But, he sold his soul at the Republican Convention and that doesn't fly well in their circle. Possibly, he felt he would be part of McCain's administration and had nothing to worry about!

Things turned out differently, and he has to go. He took a gamble and he lost!

I say kick him to the curb. Leiberman had plenty of chances to work with the Dems but instead he hitched his wagon to the Republicnas and now that they have gone over a cliff so should he ... go with them in defeat.

Maybe one day Leiberman will figure out that he is responsible for his own demise and change ... until then let him know what defeat is and give him the office in the basement to ponder his actions.

My bet is he would quit and go to work for a private right wing firm before he would walk that walk of contrition.

Strip Lieberman of the chairmanship. He has proven his loyalties by actively campaigning for McCain. If he goes against Democrats when he votes because of this, he will have his own liberal to moderate constituency to answer to. In any case, he better enjoy his last hoorah in the Senate.

Why should someone who distanced himself from the party and has taken shots at its leadership be given a seat at the table with all the best scraps? Put him out back with the other attack dogs.

Create a post for him: Chairman of the Senate Select Subcommittee on the love life of the Adeli penguin. Then make sure he takes frequent trips to Antarctica to check up on his charges.

Reid, if you want respect for the Senate, Lieberman has to go. Barack has shown strength, Harry. You need to do the same. First, Lieberman is NOT qualified for that position - he let it go when he decided to take more time running with McCain than doing his job. Second, he's a slimy user - Obama was good enough for him when he need help in his election - and he pays Obama back by questioning his patriotism? I wouldn't trust that man with anything - if you think he's going to take your side whether he's chairman or not, I've got a bridge in Alaska. Wake up, grow up.

Liebermann just said the other day that if the Democrats got a filibuster proof majority that the country would go down the tubes. Given that and his GOP convention speech what it there to discuss?
Sen. Reid put the time and effort into discussing with GOP moderates like Chuck Hagel,
Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe about crossing the aisle. With the GOP set to lurch farther to the right, Senators like them should find a better home in the Democratic Party.

Joe can go on over to the GOP, since he wants it so much

Even if (we) dems do not get the 60 seat majority, the numbers seem to be significant enough without needing Lieberman. If he had just gone to the RNC and talked about his admiration for McCain, a lot of dems would not have been happy, but that appears to have been the deal he made. Instead, he participated in a night of character assassination and lies. He continued to contribute to this garbage until the end. He is a man without honor and cannot be trusted to continue working with the dem caucuses. Better of without him. He is a turncoat and cannot be trusted.

I will always remember that night, watching the RNC mock Obama for his experience as a community organizer. They just didn't get it, did they?

With all of this political talking discussions, just remember when it comes to Governors, you have to be very careful who gets elected from now on. Now that the younger folks are involved in this election, its a good lesson, to remember always remember if you have a Governor, they could do more damaged for your state, or even more to the whole Country.(Bush). Also, careful selection on Secretary of State. Most are honest, but we do remember one in general that was not playing on the up and up, (Harris) . Hopefully since this election has gone so smoothly, but we should never ever get turn our heads away and use precise decisions on every level of our government.

Joe Lieberman has proven himself to be an astonishingly unprincipaled person -- a complete sell-out to the very same special interests that pulled Bush's string.

He's also proven himself to be incredibly stupid. He's completely lost the respect of most the American people.
