Nicole Kidman On Marriage To Tom: Job "To Be Seen And Not Heard"

Nicole Kidman has largely remained silent about her 10-year marriage to Tom Cruise, but now remarried to Keith Urban with a baby girl, she is talking about her self-doubt during that time:

She told Glamour magazine she felt stifled during the high-profile marriage: 'I felt I became a star only by association. I didn't think [my early movies] were very good, which is why I would always cower in the background.'

'I thought, I don't deserve to be here. We would go to the Oscars and I would think, I'm here to support him.

'I felt it was my job to put on a beautiful dress and to be seen and not heard.'...

Kidman says she is now happier than ever: 'I'm in a place of gratitude and humility. I touch wood every day. The journey of life - we all go through it.

'You have love, you lose love, you find new love. To have love again is a beautiful thing.'

And about that baby, she says labor was a breeze:

"Keith was my rock during chidbirth. I'd heard horror stories of 40 hours of labour, and I was sure that would be me, but I had a very easy labour. And through it all, Keith's eyes gave me such strength."

It would have been a shame if she had not realized her talent. Her marriage to Tom breaking up is the best thing that ever happened to her, at least in terms of her great gift for acting.

I never heard of her until I saw To Die For. Wow. Definitely not just another pretty actress at all.

Strange tastes in movies sometimes, but a fantastic actress, who happens to be incredibly beautiful.
I hope she lives long and does a lot more interesting movies. Cruise doesn't hold a candle to her.

IMO, Nicolle Kidmann has much more talent than Tom Cruise and her movies are much better than his, also.

In addition, she is one the world's most beautiful women.

I first saw Nicole in Dead Calm with Billy Zane and Sam Neill. With a cast of essentially only three, and a tough role to play, she pulled it off marvelously. I wanted to see her in more movies. She has skills, even if some of her later efforts didn't exactly bring out her best work. Nicole should not feel that her only reason for stardom is her marriage to Tom. It might have garnered her some additional attention, but she would have made it anyway.

Scientology preaches against any type of mental health treatment, not just neuro-psych-pharmacology. Were Tom to get therapy, with as high as he is in the hierarchy they would come after him big time.

Kidman is trying to change Urban - not gonna happen unfortunately. You can't change someone with as habit that is destructive.

But I am happy she has a daughter.
