ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin has returned to her home state of Alaska, where she was greeted by dozens of supporters encouraging her to run for president in four years.

The crowd chanted "2012! 2012!" as Palin disembarked her airplane at the Anchorage airport. Asked by reporters if she might run for president, Palin said, "We'll see what happens then."

The Alaska governor said she hoped to work with president-elect Barack Obama on energy policy. She was returning to the state after spending Tuesday night in Phoenix, where she watched election returns with her Republican running mate, Arizona Sen. John McCain.

Football team from Chicago routs underdog from Phoenix. But the Chicago fans don't seem content to trounce and embarrass their opponent in regulation. No, rather than just celebrating the well-earned victory and then moving on to prepare for the next game, they choose to stick around for some trash talk, beating up and piling on their already humiliated opponent.

Unsportsmanlike conduct. 15 yard penalty. Will be assessed on the next kickoff.

The Chicago head coach is very disappointed with the behavior of his fan base.

I really want to watch the Obama v. Palin debates of 2012. If she makes a run for the nomination, I might even change my party affiliation to be able to vote for her.

Personally I think they were shouting '2112', thinking it was Canadian prog-power trio Rush arriving on the plane for a gig, man.

Actually, come to think of it, we could wait until 2112 and even then Sarah Palin would not be qualified for the top job.

"...and the meek shall inherit the Earth"

Indeed.

Alaska please hold her there and never let her come out again. This woman is dangerous and has the potential of bringing racial chaos to this country. We have to move on.

Ironic that James Dobson was the one who blackmailed the Republican Party into putting Palin on the ticket. He was not going to vote for McCain, but pressured McCain into putting Palin on the ticket and McCain gave in in to get the right-wing Evangelicals to campaign for McCain and to get out the vote.

For the "Focus on the Family" leader to push a family-last mother like Palin is the ultimate hypocrisy. Dobson has been telling mothers to stay home with their young children for years, then this woman who has a special needs baby comes along and it's ok for her to try to run a state and engage in a time-consuming vice-presidential campaign at the same time. It's not just ok- Dobson is the one who pushed for it.

Special needs children need extra attention during when they are young. And, Palin's other children have also been neglected, as evidenced by their teenage unwed pregnancy and drug use and trouble with the law. If she had been around more, as Dobson preaches to mothers, then perhaps her children wouldn't have gotten into so much trouble.

Why is the mother of such a disfunctional family the favorite of evangelical conservative christians? Their theology is based upon belief, not practice. As long as you believe, you are saved. Doesn't matter how you actually live. As long as you agree with the party line (anti-abortion, anti-gay, anti-science, etc.), you are saved.

How true. Palin, like many Evangelicals, is an unimaginable hypocrite. The social worldview they espouse is that if they ensconce themselves in their own righteousness, they can do no wrong and how dare you criticize them, eh?

The fact that people want this woman to run for the highest office of the land is beyond frightening; it's like Mike Judge's "Idiocracy" come to life.

It's more like, "they are 'saved' from sin" ; so they can pretty much do as they please against us "sinners".

A "fundamental" version of any ideology is nothing more than form rather than function. It's a very self-centered mind-set, ie: "How I'm percieved, how I'm thought of is more important than what I do for/to others." Thus, 'Focus on the Psychosis' would want the most radical embodiment of their beliefs. Her "function" never mattered, just her "form".

YOU ARE SO RIGHT. THE CONSERVATIVES, SO CALLED EVANGELICALS ARE ALL FAKE CHRISTIANS..THEY ARE HYPOCRATES. BOTH MCCAIN, PALINS HAVE RECORDS THAT THEY SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF..THEY SPEND TIME TELLING PEOPLE WHAT TO DO, BUT THERE OWN ACTIONS ARE SO UNCHRISTIAN.

WE SEE A TRUE CHRISTIAN IN PRESIDENT OBAMA.

I hope and pray the wing nominates her in 2012. All Obama has to do at that point is play the Couric tapes over and over.

It's good that the "Witch of Wasilla" has flown back to Alaska. Are you sure that she didn't use a broom? Throw some water on her, and maybe we won't need to hear from her again!

I spent nearly 3 weeks travelling and camping around Alaska when I was 22 and really, really enjoyed it. It's a beautiful, majestic place and it really feels like you are somewhere different when you're up there.

But since everything has gone down, my feelings have really been tarnished. I know there are good Alaskans (Mudflats, and those wonderful people who staged the anti-Sarah Palin protest being several examples!), but the fact that a sizeable number of Alaskan voters want to re-elect Ted Stevens- - man, that just points to something frighteningly defective in the collective mindset there.

Over at Comedy Central they have an ad for a DVD collection of Schoolhouse Rock. If we send her a set, maybe she'll be ready for 2012

I believe the operative word here is "DOZENS". That's probably just about the number of favors Todd had to call in to get SOMEBODY to show up at the airport in order to avoid the inevitable meltdown he would have had to deal with had the "Heir Apparent to the GOP" stepped onto an empty tarmack. Hopefully this charade is over, and the GOP can start focusing on some deep healing. They might begin by helping John McCain find his cajones. As for Ms. Palin even contemplating 2012...my money would be on Hillary Clinton to chew her up and spit her out like Joe Biden shoulda/coulda/woulda but mercifully declined to. Maybe a career on SNL doing Tina Fey impressions???

In the meantime, she could use a few basic geography lessons. Perhaps, she can sit in on one of her daughter's classes?

STAY UP THERE, Sarah... You're an embarrassment to all Governors.

She has disqualified herself any way possible. Why would this be better 4 years ahead? Even if she
chose to "learn" about the world it still wouldn't matter. If you are as dumb as she is at her age there is no hope left.

Oh that's about $ 200K to drop Palin off. That being two rounds trips on a 737, first trip for Sarah to cast her vote and the 2nd round trip to drop Sarah off. Taking a commercial flight probably feels like socialism to the snow queen.
