Rebecca Romijn On Pregnancy: "I'm A Beached Whale!"

In this week's Page Six Magazine - Rebecca Romijn, pregnant with twin daughters on the way, opens up about fertility drugs, maternity sex appeal and her split from ex-husband John Stamos.

On using medical intervention to get pregnant:

"We did not do IVF... A year ago, we tried [the fertility drug] Clomid for a couple of months unsuccessfully. But by the second month, I was like, 'Ahhh! I hate this!' I think when you start messing with your own hormones, it's crazy-making."

On her body during pregnancy:

"I can't move anymore...I'm a beached whale! ...I have not been without a bra this entire pregnancy. I refuse. I'm not taking any chances. I'm determined to keep the puppies up!"

On speculation that the cause of her 2004 divorce was that she did not want children:

"There is absolutely no truth to that. That [story] was completely made up. I desperately wanted kids. I was never a girl who dreamed about what her wedding day would be like, but I've always dreamed about decorating my baby's nursery."

On husband Jerry O'Connell's fathering skills:

I knew early on he would be a fantastic dad. He's a pragmatic, smart, savvy, enthusiastic person. He really lives his life with tremendous integrity, and he's a healthy person in every single way."

On parenting:

"I've just surrendered to the fact that [parenting] will be the hardest thing I'll ever do. I know my life will never be the same - but in the best way possible."

With the advent of the hormone drugs and IVF there are a whole lotta big pregnant women around. They are making strollers for three plus kids and the "Jon and Kate plus 8" show should put any woman who even thinks about messing with the hormones think a long time and send many good men screaming from the bedroom! I know several women who have done the drugs and had twins by choice and although every pregnant woman must go through the "whale stage" twins plus women I know are quaified for the status. All of them I know had bed rest they got soooo big so yeah Rebecca is there and still gestating so she will be bigger and sympathy to her and all of those who are there. I can tell you that you will see your feet again and as long as you are kept moving the weight will go away. Actresses have to lose it to keep/get the jobs so sympathy there for sure.

So....how will they handle this on Ugly Betty, make her pregant?, have her in baggy clothes, behind furrniture, film her from the shoulders up, write her out (on a trip or ?) for a while? Or will this all happen inbetween TV seasons?

They sent her to jail for pushing Christina down a flight of stairs. She was starting to show and they used some big bags and open notebooks to cover her up. But the story line is that she pushed Christina and is going to jail quietly for a little while.

I don't care about her pregnancy whining. What I want to know is what in the heck was she thinking? Having a baby with f-ug Jerry O'Connell and not John Stamos? It's one of the bigger HUH? moments in the world of trite and silly celebrity gossip.

Not that I'll ever know, but I'm sure it'll be easier to carry a baby for 9 months than it will be to carry John Stamos for 8 years.

I'm sure she's a gorgeous pregnant woman.... and she'll lose it quickly. Chasing after babies is a lot of work and exercise.

I gained 70 lbs......y­ou heard me..... but am back at my pre-baby size 4/6. Whew!
