Now that Barack Obama and the Democrats will be in control, the party plans to pursue an aggressive agenda. See what's in store for the Democratic Congress and read below for more info and a slideshow on Obama's potential administration:

Flush with victory built on incursions in the South and West, Congressional Democratic leaders promised to use their new power to join President-elect Barack Obama in pursuing an aggressive agenda that puts top priority on the economy, health care, energy and ending the Iraq war.

By reaching deep into traditionally Republican turf, the Democrats in Tuesday's elections expanded their majorities in both the House and the Senate. They picked up at least five Senate seats, in Colorado, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina and Virginia. And they picked up at least 19 House seats, with new Democrats coming from Alabama, Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina and Virginia.

Pelosi said, in 2006, after the Cheney manufactured documents for a "Fake" war in Iraq but before the clear violations of public trust by the Bush Administration that lead to the worst financial CRISIS in a lifetime:

"I have said it before and I will say it again: Impeachment is off the table," Pelosi, D-Calif., said during a news conference.

Pelosi also said Democrats, despite complaining about years of unfair treatment by the majority GOP, "are not about getting even" with Republicans.

Pelosi should reconsider: With all the revelations Bush administration not "Enforcing Laws" which allowed, for example, corrupt use of "illegal leveraging" of OIL PRICES and "illegal naked shorting" that drove Lehman and many others into or near bankrupcy and the worst crisis since the Great Depression.

It was not that long ago we had the Savings and Loan Crisis and that is similar to this on a smaller scale.

While I realize Obama wants a peaceful and harmonious transition, Pelosi has the obligation to follow up with an investigation. The goal is prevention of a recurrence in the future!

The Bush Administration that has violated the Constitution:

The President "shall take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed" and clearly that includes all laws including regulations!

To TiffHussBan, re Tavis bitterness toward Obama: I heard it is because Obama did not address poverty during his campaign. But who knows.

Taking advantage of aides' credit cards? Is that true? If so, and she's in contention for election in 2012 the war cry should be "Remember the Master Card!". What an awful personality.

I see the stock market is back on track

Celibrating 8 years of Dubya Ekonomiks.

I wish to thank the GOP for leaving such wonderful

Presents under the tree.

I think it will take at least 4 years to get over this disaster.

Franken said: "Candidates don"t get to decide when the election"s over or who won. The voters do."

Exactly. That is why I vote Democrat. Democrats want Democracy.

Why would anyone vote for Coleman or Bachman? Politics aside, their tactics were atro.cious.

It's state law, as it is in many states, when the results are that close to have a recount. I see no reason to concede. There have been plenty of Republican candidates which have availed themselves of the right to a recount, in recent years.

It's pathetic of Coleman to try and portray this otherwise.

I was just musing as is my want.

Why do 96% of Mc-Cain voters think that Palin is qualified to be president.

well at least she will drag the GOP down for the next four years at least.

Yes, it is.

Do you really think Sarah Palin, with her millions in earmarks, hiring a lobbyist to maximize them, hiring a PR firm to get herself noticed in DC, regular trips to washington, was an "outsider"? If so, I have this nice bridge in Alaska to sell you...

I heard that by 6am yesterday morning, McCain's secret service detail was pulled off.

I thought he said he would campaign without a secret service detail?

One of the main reasons he lost by such a HUGE margin

And when Palin and family went to the airport, it was in a motorcade of twelve cars. Plus an additional twelve police motorcycles escorting them.

Just amazing the money that woman can waste.

Kucinich lacks every quality necessary for a successful Speaker----the ability to compromise, a power base in the House, and seniority, just for starters.

The Speaker is chosen by the majority party caucus---they've chosen Pelosi, and there is no effort underway to choose someone else.

Sarah Palin clearly was not qualified to be Vice President no matter how much the Christian Right idolized her. No matter of fear mongering, distortion, and imaginative invention about Obama's economics plan will change the fact that she falsely defined the Vice President's role as "in charge of the Senate" and she didn't give that response once, but twice. Now we can read further about how her and her husband's Christian faith didn't stop them from going on clothing spending sprees that cost far more than $150,000 and it was neither with the permission of the political donors nor McCain's campaign aides. Welcome to the reality-based community, kicking and screaming.

Reports are that it was even more than $150,000 and included clothing for the whole family.
