White House Dog Barney Bites Reuters Reporter

The Washington Post's Al Kamen reports:

Reuters television White House correspondent Jon Decker reports that President Bush's dog Barney, going on a walk this morning on the North Lawn, let his reaction to the news show.

He "bit my right index finger this morning -- as I reached down to pet him," Decker said. The bite broke skin and the wound was bleeding enough to prompt White House physician Dr. Richard Tubb to treat Decker with antibiotics. He will also be getting a tetanus shot.

Scotties NEVER bite anyone. Unless they are extremely provoked.

My neighbor's scotty tried to bite my daughter when she was running around my yard--she didn't touch him--he just gave chase barking his fool head off. He also attacked my cat--the dog is a menace. His owner's excuse was that he doesn't like children...
I was a dog washer for a groomer as a teenager, the only dog that ever bit me was a scotty--don't tell me they don't bite.

Nice. The thought is tempting but the fact remains that the Bushs' probably do not do the daily care for the animal. So, all you're really doing is harming the dog. Not cool.

The only assured way to determine an animal with Rabies is to take its head off, ... and examine its brain. Is it possible Barney caught this from his master? Wait, ... I don't want to go there.

Hope the wounds heal, ... approach a dog differently next time, please. I like Barney from all reports, but I'd never feed him my fingers first, two days after an election like we saw on Tuesday. Give him the back of your hand first, ... He is the only Scottish Guard Dog at his level in the world. Wear the scars with pride, ... if you survive!

Good dog. Barney has rights, too. He is like another celebrity facing the paparazzi, they wouldn't want to be molested or fondled by reporters, either. I'd certainly bite back.
