I Like ItI Don’t Like It

Apparently, earlier today, the White House dog, Barney, WENT ROGUE and attacked Big Media, biting John Decker from Reuters. This created the ultimate cross-platform "Woman Reports On Dog Biting Man Reporter This Is MSNBC, The Place For Dog Bites" story. We are promised that we will be "kept up to date!" Yes, it's all fun and games until Barney, who now has the thirst for journalist blood, strikes again, which will be hopefully soon.

As Cesar would say--George is not good pack leader...

Personally, I've never met a scotty that was friendly to strangers, would never have them around children. When I was fifteen I worked as a dog washer (first job) for a groomer, the only dog that ever bit me was a scotty, not pitbulls, german shepherds, rotties. My neighbors have 4 of them and they're all aggressive to other pets and not friendly to kids--they're owners have defended them til their breathless, I remain uncovinced.

Yep. They're actually nasty. My friend's (of 20 years) scotty bit me after he walked under my feet and I tripped over him.... and everyone else that he tripped up. Always barked at anything that flew or ran by too...and don't forget the peeing everywhere.....everywhere. Her house was pretty disgusting!

The day my neighbors moved in their scotties decided to explore the neighborhood and came over to my house. My malamute sniffed at one and the little bugger bit her--she bit him back and opened a cut on his back which required stitches (she weighs 140 lbs)--we paid the vet bill and apologized for the incident. They refused to admit that their dog was the agressor, even though it happened on my property, and tried to have the sheriff's department declare my dog dangerous which would have required me to procure a $100k liability policy. THEN they had the gall to tell me that if their dogs came over again I should make sure my kids stayed away from them as they didn't like children...people and their dogs...

You got bit by Barney, and we got shafted by his dad. I'd prefer Barney's bite.

Imagine a t-rex bending down to touch you. You'd bite him too, if you could.

Poor Barney. Dogs are very sensitive. Undoubtedly he's been soaking up all the depression and resentment running through the White House and Republican party. They should let little Barney take a vacation far away from the tension. Maybe spend some time in Kennebunkport with the extended family.

Plus, you should never reach for a dog the way that reporter did. Lesson to all political paparazzi.

Poor little guy.

plus, using a simpering baby voice doesn't help--that tone implies inferiority.

Hopefully he had his rabies shot. I knew Cheney and Palin were up-to-date on theirs.

My four pound Maltese would have done the same thing. He likes interaction to be his idea. That reporter was way to forward and presumptuous. He didn't give Barney any respect.

Properly trained dogs don't bite.... or schreech all day..... or pee all over the house.

I agree. A dog that will bite when approached in a friendly way has not been properly socialized. We must all realize that dogs are our friends but they can also cause bodily harm. For the safety of your dog and other creatures, including humans, you should try to nip that kind of behavior in the bud before it gets out of hand (no pun intended). You and your dog will be much happier that way.

ANY dog will bite, given the right circumstances.

They're dogs, after all.

There's only one thing they can do about this.

Keep W on a leash and have Cheney put to sleep.

Why were reporters interviewing Barney anyway?

They really seem to have a bond with that mean little dog, that clearly hasn't been properly trained and socialized. Maybe the dog whisperer should visit the White House next.

Didn't you know that Barney is one of bush's most important consultants. He runs everything by Barney before he makes a decision.

There's a rumor going around that the dog was personally trained by VP Cheney.
