I Like ItI Don’t Like It

Will Smith joined Oprah on Thursday and talked about how moved he was when the election was officially called for Barack Obama, even imitating himself bawling on the floor. "Oprah I'm an action hero, I can't be crying on your show," he told her moments before imitating himself sobbing with happiness and falling to the floor. He pulled it together and got serious to talk about how much Obama's speech resonated with him.

Oprah shared her joy yesterday.

You know if they ever make a biopic about Barack Obama, Will Smith will be first in line to audition for that role. Not only does he adore Obama, but they look SO much alike!

I'm there, too! Revel! Lets all revel! Because we voted for America, this year, people. We voted for the core principles of our nation, and told the world that we will safeguard those principles against all comers--from without and from within. No other group, no other person (not even a two-term president) is more important than the protection of our commitment to the rights of all of our citizens.

Will Smith - I'm right there with you! I'm white as as a sheet, but it doesn't make a damn to me - Obama is my man! Together we can make America what it should have always been. USA! USA! USA! Thanks Will for your contributions to OUR country!

Who didn't cry? We were all bawling with joy at my election watch party. Every one of us - all over 55, all white, some of us were even Republicans who supported Obama. We were all cryin'.

If you think a lot of people cried when Obama won, just think how many of us would have been sobbing if McSame had won. Our nation took its first step back from the edge of the abyss on November 4th, but it is only a first step. There is much work to be done.

You said it. Strength and Patience are what's needed now.

President Elect Obama has done something for the world without realizing it. The lines at Canadian consulates and other countries are at a trickle and not a flood.

Do I get the feeling that Will Smith just put his bid in to play Obama in an biographical film?

Lord, help us. I so don't like that cat's acting.

Better get over it...the movie is in the works and I can't imagine ANYONE but Will playing the part of the President. Maybe you can go and see a rerun of "Two Mules for Sister Sara" on the day this movie premieres!!!! Think about it!

When asked who would play him in a movie, Obama said, My first thought was Denzel, but with my ears, it'd have to be Will Smith lol.

Who gives a damn? I don't care if they resurrect Peter Loree to play Obama, as long as the real Obama can bring us out of the mess the past eight years has brought us!

Yeah, I don't give him a pass for that nonsense of Pursuit of Happyness. Does he know what he was doing in that film? Making the Reagan years look like all blacks needed to do was work harder, and they'd all get rich. Rightwing garbage.

I'm not in the States right now (see my screen name), so it's been a weird week.

I posted a video thank you to the States about this election :

I really feel like I've waited my entire life for this moment. And that the United States have finally become just that.

That's a really neat post. I am 43, lived through Reagan, Bush, and then Bush....I feel the same way brother: I've waited all my life for this. Now it's up to all of us to pitch in and make sure the douchebags don't get another chance at hijacking the country for another 20 years.

Not just for another 20 years but forever. We as the sane people need to get the insane ones in an asylum forever more!

I was at a party for Democrats in my small Alabama town. When the announcement was made, we all were weeping. Black and white, hugging and crying for joy. It was one of the happiest nights of my life. I am still on cloud nine.

It is now Sunday, Nov. 9th and I am still getting tears of joy! The full impact of the promise that Barack Obama brings to this country, to the world, is transformational. I have nothing but R E S P E C T for this man and his upcoming administration!!!

My tearful reaction to what our nation accomplished on November 4th by electing Senator Obama to the Presidency only came today. A delayed response, to be sure, as I had previously felt alternatively humbled, thrilled, apprehensive and hopeful.

But I had not wept over this amazing event until I listed to Nancy Giles' segment on CBS' "Sunday Morning" today, wherein she spoke of her experience as a Black person, and her sadness that her parents did not live to see an African-American become president.

I have nothing but the deepest of admiration and respect for all of the people, regardess of race, creed, ethnicity or party affiliation, that helped make this lofty goal of uniting America a tangible possibility. And finally letting go of the pent-up anxiety and concern from this protracted, and difficult, election season felt pretty darn good too.

It's understandable that Will Smith you be moved by the election results because he has actually come out on record and saying that he wants to run for president one day. And hey as Barack proved anything is possible, especially when you have God's favor like I believe Barack had (read about it in my blog article entitled "The One vote That Matters" http://godspaceblog.wordpress.com/2008/11/04/the-one-vote-that-matters/ )

One day, a woman will be president, too, and none of us will have to cry because it will be nothing out of the ordinary; the best PERSON will win regardless of race, gender, or sexual orientation.

Clearly, this is what happened this election cycle. Also noteworthy -- the least qualified person did NOT win -- and thank God for that!
