Harry Reid

Harry Reid told CNN Friday that he is unhappy with Joe Lieberman's passionate support of John McCain for president.

"Joe Lieberman has done something that I think was improper, wrong, and I'd like if we weren't on television, I'd use a stronger word of describing what he did," Reid told CNN's John King. "But Joe Lieberman votes with me a lot more than a lot of my senators. He didn't support us on military stuff and he didn't support us on Iraq stuff. You look at his record, it's pretty good."

Reid, the AP has reported, "is considering yanking Lieberman's chairmanship of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee as punishment."

Meanwhile the AP also reported today that GOP Senate Leader Mitch McConnell has reached out to Lieberman about joining the Republican party.

What Lieberman did was not wrong: it was his choice. However bad choices have consequences. The Democrats need to throw this son of a bitch out on his ass. Let's also not forget that when this a**hole was running for VP in 2000, he allowed the Bush administration to include all those military absentee ballots that arrived late and/or were incorrectly filled out. He helped Bush take Florida.

I happen to believe that Joe Lieberman is a self serving SOB without an ounce of principle. if Lieberman is going to vote differently because he is stripped of his committee chair or because he is no longer a member of the democratic caucus he will prove me and I suspect many others like me right. I think that we give him a chance to prove us wrong by yanking his committee chair and seeing how he behaves. If in fact his votes going forward are consistent with a true Democrat one can consider restoring his committee chair in the future.

Joe should be excommunicated from the caucus and from any chairmanship. However, why not use Joe as a mole. I am certain his principles would allow him to be so used.

Joe's embrace of McCain and criticism of Obama was to all emcompassing to ignore. While I am not a champion of Mr. Reid, Joe must be held accountable for being a dupe of McCain.

This is not just about supporting McCain. There is a prelude to this problem. The matter is a personal one.
Lieberman was in trouble for reelection and the person that he ask to save him and campaign for him was Obama. He owe him his reelection. Then he was the best person of the world.
Now, the other matter is his word. He promised that in supporting McCain he will not attack Obama. But not only he attacked him, but participated in the hate feast of the Republican Convention. He implied anti-american sentiments in Obama and participated in every attack including calling him a socialist. He ended even defending Sarah Pailin.
THe word hypocrite sound right, and to some treason sounds about correct.

From: The Prophet Richard Elijah
Although as a Democrat, I also, do not like that Senator Lieberman sided with the Republicans more often than not (at least in the media - statements he made). I am aware as a result of speaking with the Honorable Senator that he is very afraid. Afraid of what you may ask? Senator Lieberman told me as we spoke telepathicly that he is being threatened by the National Security Agency, daily. The NSA is controled by Satin. This evil supernatural that is in control of the entire government structure of these United States of America. Until President Bush and his gang of "animals" are out of the whitehouse on January 20, 2009; Americans need to be aware the election of President Elect Senator Obama does not ensure that anyone in this country (not to mention the world) are safe from being hurt by this evil supernatural Satan. Having said that, please let me refer you to THE LORD's website (maybe HE will have something to say about this matter.). In my limited opinion, I think that the Democratic leadership should ask Senator Lieberman to come back fully into the Democratic fold.

Lieberman backed the 2 most incompetent people to ever run for office. If we could compare the total IQ's of all Presidential and VP candidates in history, I have no doubt that McCain and Palin would reside at the bottom. I think he did it because he felt that he would have a lot of power in that situation. It speaks to poor judgment; abysmal judgment; double extra mega supersize-me country in the crapper and I don't give a rat's as# judgment. Boot his sorry as#.

Reid's comments are rich coming from one who's done nothing since the beginning of the repudiation of Christofascist republicanism that began with the 2006 elections. Reid has squandered time & energy by rolling over (or bending over) time after time.

Lieberman is siding with whomever wants to turn the Middle East into a sheet of glass (with the exception of his homeland of Israel).

After all, Lieberman did publicly call Obama a Muslim in order to instill fear and loathing in Americans.

My advice, trash the traitor Lieberman, take away his Committee chairmanship and don't give him another. Once a Judas, always a Judas.

Lieberman definitely should be summarily excused, banished, banned and sent packing. He seems to be the embodiment of the stereotypical pandering politician. He figured the times called for John McCain, so there he went, as McCain's loyal lapdog, spewing all the typical Repuplican crap along the way. It is inexcusable; the man was once a Democratic vice presidential nominee, for God's sake. No one has ever flip-flopped the way Lieberman has.

He put all his savings on a horse and it ran the wrong way. He's bankrupt, he has no credibility whatsoever. He needs to be sent packing.

I think Leiberman should be a Republican, why not? It's where his politics are right now. You can't play it both ways for very long, Joe, that's just the way it goes.

Punish Lieberman short of pushing him all the way to GOP. More importantly, dump Reid and Pelosi from leadership positions; they aren't much better than Lieberman.

We tryed to do that this year when Cindy Sheehan ran against piglosi, as an Independent, Nancy was to afraid to debate Cindy and the MSM didn't give Cindy any coverage. We received 17% of the vote. It's a rigged game.

I think Lieberman made his choices clear in this election cycle through his campaigning for McCain (and the way he did it). He should not continue to reap the benefits of the Democratic Party. He claims to be an Independent but cannot have the best of everything. He made choices and now I think the Democrats should remove him from his chairmanship. He still has the opportunity to carry forward his work thorough his Senate seat but reaping the benefits and leadership of the Democratic Party when he so vigorously denounced Barack Obama and worked to undermine Obama's patriotism is appalling. I hope he gets removed and would find it extremely disappointing if he doesn't.

I don't get it when people say I really like him and then goes on to talk about the appalling things he did. Those tow don't fit for me. Integrity is about truth and having what you do and what you say match. Lieberman has no integrity.
