Could someone explain why Villaraigosa, the completely inept mayor of Los Angeles was on this panel of so called experts? L.A. is in one of the worst economic situations in history(prior to the recent wall street and housing disasters) mostly in part to very bad choices by this man. Obama has made an impressive point to surround himself with the "best", Villaraigosa could not be further from that. Not to mention he was a rabid anti Obama attacker in the primaries. I truly hope Obama does not plan to Bailout this man because he most assuredly will not be re-elected mayor of Los Angeles, even falling into disfavor with many Hispanics because of his adulterous longstanding liason with a local Spanish language T.V. reporter. If he has acquired skills that Angelenos are unaware of,and that he certainly has not brought to bear for the welfare of our city, please, would someone cite them.

OKAY LADIES...lets use our INTELLIGENCE FOR constructive dialogue...we have more savvy than that. I expect all here to use what is available to us to educate ourselves and speak with sense, this is not a rag magazine AND the reflection we want to show is our conscious and intelligence thoughts. Ask questions, google, be informed. This election, I felt, showed how AA are not just what you see on TV, everyone saw that. As you know , for AA there are scientists, Dr, Lawyers etc (which is not always front and center), Having said that, other ladies on this blog, take note and educate yourselves as well. We are ALL in this TOGETHER. LADIES UNITE*******

Geezus. Why can't she do the baseball cap? Give it a rest, it's not a fashion show, as long as she's taking care of her girls, she's got her priorities right.

Jeezus, everybody, relax. Those of us who questioned the baseball cap garb are supportive and simply protective of Michelle (and the Prez), here. No need to come out of a bag. Dayuum. Go drink something. Enjoy your weekends!

Because she's taking care of her daughters and is likely a better mom than any of you complaining? Not to mention enjoying a grand relationship with the leader of the Free Fricken World LOL????

You all sound ignorant as hell.

DUMB AS ROCKS -- ALL OF YOU.

What have you accomplished with your lives and how do you look minute to minute that gives you any authority to put such ignorant energy out on this woman?

Seriously -- post resumes, all of you. Let's see 'em LOL.

Back your noise up.

In all the months of reading and posting to HuffPo, I have never read such non sense from so many posters. Michelle is not the first lady yet. Give the woman a break.

What pisses me most is that most of this bs is coming from "sisters." If it were not for Michelle Obama, you wouldn't even be having this conversation because Barack Obama probably would not be were he is today.

I can't believe that this conversation is even taking place.

DID YOU HEAR ABOUT THE CHILDREN IN HAITI BURIED UNDER THE RUBBLE OF A COLAPSED SCHOOL?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And it was a good press conference and successful in reminding people that he is not President yet. Sorry, everyone, you have to wait a few months.

After he gets his team together I hope everyone's family can get away for a chance to recharge.

Yo yo yo yo yo, lighten up on Michelle Obama, please!

Think what her last 96 hours have been like. Her world and that of her family, despite all the run-up to this, has irrevocably just been turned upside down. How much sleep do you think she has had? How unnerved might she be with a highest level Secret Service detail now added, and the road to her house now closed off? Think about all that and you'll have no wonder she would not give a sheet about hair and makeup for an early morning school visit. It's called a healthy bit of denial. "You're president, but I'm just headed to school for the parent-teacher meeting."

She'll get a photog-friendly bunch of uniforms in a bit, and then people can complain about how she always wears the same thing and why is everything black or purple or whatever.

One thing we can say about Barack Obama is that he is a real family man, who is just like other family oriented working Americans. He is "everyman", who just so happened to capture the hearts and minds of millions of us in order to win the race to the White House. Thank You You Smart Democrats! I cannot thank you enough!!!! :))))))))))))

Wait...I thought this article was about Obama's day, focusing on his financial advisors.
How did you all start talking about Michelle's clothes? Michelle Obama is fine.
What country and what planet are you guys living on? If you want the media to treat us as if we have some modicum of intelligence, then we should act as if we have intelligence!

I would think we got passed this "who are you wearing" dumb conversation after Tuesday.

She doesn't have to be a fashion plate or walking free advertisement for some designer to represent me.

Give her a break, maybe she came from/went to gym, or has things do where a suit or gown might not be so practical. Maybe...who cares?

And as an African-American woman myself, to my other sisters...get over it. Be proud that this woman, will verbally, intellectually, and by looks of it physically go toe-to-toe with anyone whenever and wherever...in rollers and house shoes or a Valentino gown.

OK. ..... Huffpost for Sanity, has been my mantra throughout the election process.... but this is crazy. How come so many sensible souls turn into style bigots at the sight of a woman without makeup? From England, where I am, Michelle looks just fine! When she's doing kid-stuff, she dresses for that. When she's onstage in a vast arena, she dresses theatrically accordingly. And presumably when she goes to the Ball she'll have a knock'em dead dress for that occasion too... you got what you voted for, don't try to change her now she's (soon to be) your First Lady ... don't turn her into all the other stiff boring ol' first ladies you've had... and don't waste your time worrying about how 'the world' will see her, or what we'll think of you because of what she wears..... ?! I've got news for you, we like her the way she is! The 21st century can cope with women who DON'T worry all the time about what we look like without makeup. (Anyway Michelle looks great with or without). The 21st century is for women who look and feel strong, happy, healthy and comfortable. And it's the President who we see as your Representative Abroad, not her. We care about democracy and justice and economic stability and equality, and peace...... not lipstick! - Have a cat-fight if you must, but don't claim it's about us 'abroad', we've got more serious stuff on our minds.

Read this post several times and am still trying to figure out the reason for all the comments regarding Michele

All first ladies have style issues until they become first lady. I think if you look back at Hillary or Laura, they looked a whole lot more put together after they moved into the White House.
So far what I've seen from Michelle has been hit or miss. Sometimes she looks beautiful and sometimes not. I'm sure that will be remedied after 1/20/09. Cannot wait!!!

Wow...these comments are absolutely disgusting that people are making about Michelle. If anybody wants to talk about sexism this is it right here! Why does she need to always dress up, wear make-up, etc? She can dress however the hell she wants. Who cares? She's still a beautiful woman regardless. And hell, I'd rather see a woman that resembles the everyday woman that she is...not something she's not. Go Michelle!
