Sarah Palin Spent $40,000 On Luxury Goods For Todd

Washington Post's Reliable Sources column reports on more Palin clothing expenditures, this time for Todd:

On top of the $150,000 first outlined in Federal Election Commission filings, Palin spent "tens of thousands of dollars" on additional clothing, makeup and jewelry for herself and her family, including $40,000 in luxury goods for her husband, Todd, our colleague Michael Shear reports. The campaign was charged for silk boxer shorts, spray tanners and 13 suitcases to carry all the designer clothes, according to two GOP insiders.

We all know by now that Sarah Palin is the quintessential Republican. She is irresponsible with other people's money and is as gredy as they come. She is a millionaire but will gladly abuse other people's money to buy luxury for herself and family. Alongside this she is an unthinking christian who substitutes faith for introspection. I am sure she learned in her church that if the opportunity arises to pick someone's pocket, do it quickly and do it as hard as possible before the opportunity disappears. If she did not learn this in church where did it come from? We know she does not read anything and is enormously ignorant on a doubly Bushian scale.

Why are Evangelical leaders so preoccupied with their outer appearance. They wear either extraordinarily expensive clothes and accessories (usually paid for by other people's money) and try to create this image of success - so that lesser mortals hope that by associating with them (read: donate more) some of the success will rub onto them.

Why are first dude and hockey mom so concerned about looking tanned in Alaska or anywhere else for that matter???? I guess this must be a definite sign of their vanity. I suppose issues such as providing stability and being good role models for their children must be on the bottom of their list. Sarah Palin should have been aware of her limitations and not accepted the nomination. She should have put her children's needs first. She needs to be planning a wedding for her daughter to Levi Johnston. Todd needs to teach Levi that fishing, hunting, dogsled racing, and playing with snow machines should be put on the backburner once he becomes a father. Levi needs to further his education so that he can provide a better future for his future wife and child. Sarah needs to know that Todd will take up the slack at home when she is performing her duties as governor and not follow her around 24/7!!!

I suspect that in Alaska being tanned is a status symbol. Either you re a rugged outdorsman or you have enough money to vacation in Hawaii during the winter.

Palin exposed her utter unfitness as a VP candidate (thank God she did!) in her televised interviews. She took advantage of a generous gesture and spent a house payment on clothes and luxury items for herself and her family without evidently ever stopping to think about how it might look printed as a headine, or that nobody would notice she was taking this donor and the whole RNC for every dime she could milk out of them. So far that's naive, unprepared, vindictive, greedy, dishonest and undisciplined.

Okay, GOP, if you want to follow this woman around in a desert for 40 years as the "Future of the party" you're welcome to her. After all, you already listened to the Bush. Just don't expect us to wait around for you to come to your senses. We'll be over here repairing the nation.

Good lord, how hard can it be for someone to come up with another Palin lookalike but smarter. All Palin had to do was memorize the same conservative lines used in the media all day long. Probably memorizing the 5-7 basic conservative positions and some semblance of why those positons are right. Even then Palin didn't get all the positions and the reason why she supports them right and still the Right supports her. For example she knows to ape the "drill" position but doesn't have the facts as to where the oil Alaska drills goes, how much there is of it, what percentage of oil the U.S. makes, etc. She learned some of it only after she was already governor and after she was VP elect. Pitiful.

Well, this information certainly lies in the face of what she told reporters upon her arrival at the governor's office. I would hope the media follows up on this because if what has been presented is true then the woman is perhaps a congenital liar. She stated that she didn't ask for anything but "an occasional diet Dr. Pepper."
