Sarah Palin Spent $40,000 On Luxury Goods For Todd

Washington Post's Reliable Sources column reports on more Palin clothing expenditures, this time for Todd:

On top of the $150,000 first outlined in Federal Election Commission filings, Palin spent "tens of thousands of dollars" on additional clothing, makeup and jewelry for herself and her family, including $40,000 in luxury goods for her husband, Todd, our colleague Michael Shear reports. The campaign was charged for silk boxer shorts, spray tanners and 13 suitcases to carry all the designer clothes, according to two GOP insiders.

If all those clothes (n'stuff) belong to the RNC, like Palin says repeatedly­.... then why the suitcases?

The fact is, she has lied over and over about many different things. Important things like whether or not she was found guilty --- the court says "guilty" she says "oooh, I am so relieved that I am innocent!"

I am stunned that 64% of Republicans want her to run in 2012. I had heard that so many of them thought she was a horrible choice. But then, I can't understand why ANY Republican would vote for her.

I think her future in politics is over, but I am probably too optimistic. We need to support ($$$$ and volunteer work) the Dems in Alaska big time. We must get rid of Stevens and Palin. No public office allowed!

Well, if you really want to use $$$ to help get rid of her, you should also donate to her Republican primary opponents first, that's the best way to get rid of her. As we have seen, a number of Alaskans are willing to vote for a convicted felon just to have a Republican in office.

As for that 64 percent, I'm wondering how many of those Republicans who want her to run would actually be willing to VOTE for her. Maybe a good percentage of them were Obamicans.

There's much talk of a Romney vs. Palin battle for the 2012 nomination. I'm no Mittens fan, but he'd definitely be the lesser of two evils in that particular contest.

Know what, this is the classic example of the Ignorance Quotient that I live among here in Jerry Falwellville, VA, and believe me, they are a trip without luggage! Now, this one, is the worse example of them personified! I would not have wanted to be in Nieman Marcus or Sax while this motley crew was there!

I just wish some of those sales persons would come forward... Now, this one needs to be home with her brood, learning some and trying to teach them some basic manners as well as humanistic behavior patterns.

I've got a relative who lies like this. If she talks long enough, she admits it, even while she's still lying about it. And what she doesn't say is important as what she says. Sarah Palin to a tee.

She brought up the clothes issue unasked, that kind of defensiveness is usually an indication of guilt, in my experience. She never denied personally making those purchases, only that they weren't her property. She never denied spending all that money, she just disputed the total (which was conservative, as it turns out) and denied MAKING anyone put purchases on their personal cards, yeah, sure, you didn't twist their arms and force them, but I'd be willing to bet you made a stink if you had to, to get what you wanted. After all, you yourself admitted you weren't in this for naught. She also denied having worn them all, well of course, you bought so much stuff how could you possibly have worn it all.

Then here, she denies that she still had any of the clothes, or took them with her, denies anyone showed up at her door to collect them, then almost in the same breath, makes a reference to them being in the belly of the plane and admits that they're being inventoried. Yup. Maybe they didn't show up at your door, doesn't mean they didn't show up. And if they are inventorying the clothes, how would you know, why would the campaign have need to contact you?

Sarah was still ranting about the mainstream media in her impromptu interview she gave in her office yesterday. She spoke about how unfair and unbalanced they are,etc. Yet, at the same time, she is giving an interview to Fox to compain about her treatment by the media/campaign. If she wants to run in 2012, she will have to actually do interviews with real journalist and not just the "fair and balanced folks" (joke) over at Fox.

Does she not see the contradiction in her words?

What's the deal with Todd Palin? He has received almost no scrutiny despite the fact that he was a member of the Alaskan secessionist party for 7 years, his wife's hatchet man and unofficial government staffer whose job it appears was to help her look like her hands were clean when they weren't.

I'll leave it to Sarah's Republican primary opponents in 2012 to raise these issues.
