It was Mariah Carey's second marriage, but she waited till her wedding night anyway when she got married earlier this year she told the Mirror:

I'm always taken aback when people (usually men) say they "couldn't" do without sex for a period of time - 3 years, or whatever. What does that mean? Do you have a moral or religious prohibition against, shall we say, "self-grat­ification"­?
