Obamas

Barack and Michelle Obama had their first dinner out since the election. The pool report:

Barack and Michelle Obama left dinner at Spiaggia at 11pm Saturday night after a roughly three hour dinner.

Dressed in a dark suit and white shirt, Obama waved to an ecstatic crowd gathered across the street as he and Michelle rushed through the cold wind.

Michelle, wearing an elegant black knee-length jacket and tall black boots, held her coat closed as she walked to the waiting SUV.

The crowd continued to rejoice, hugging one another and cheering as the motorcade pulled off.
It was the couple's first dinner out together since his election victory, and they selected the same restaurant where they spent their anniversary and Michelle's birthday this year.

Spiaggia is located at 980 N. Michigan Ave.
The motorcade headed through light traffic on Lakeshore Drive to the Obama's home, where it arrived at 11:18pm.

My guess is that this wasn't their "first" dinner out since winning. I believe it was their "last" night out for a long long time. Nothing wrong with a little celebration.

Maybe they can invite a chef from the restaurant to the White House for her next birthday.

Reminds me of Camelot.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 09:46 PM on 11/10/2008

If I remember correctly Camelot did not have a happy ending.

Caroline Kennedy reminds me of Camelot. The Obamas going out for dinner reminds me of the Obamas going out for dinner. Camelot died in 1963 and can't be copied (unless you're Caroline Kennedy).

You should all get a job. And the guy from Italy, we could care less what you think. It is because of trying to please people like you we are stuck with this worthless losser as a president elect. Hello Socialism and Anti-Patriotism, good bye God and America.

Tired republican rhetoric doesn't work anymore!
The best man won - so deal with it!!!!
And by the way, if you hate President Obama so much will you be returning the economic stimulus check you're going to get and voluntarily agree to pay the same rate of taxes your beloved bush set up for you when President Obama lowers everyone elses? I didn't think so hypocrit!

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 10:35 PM on 11/10/2008

You, I am sure will love the check, up until it puts you out of your minimum wage job. If you even have a job, maybe you just vote for a living. I will work harder so you can still receive your welfare check.

One more thing. I am not a republican. Is there still a republican party? They look like the entitlement at any price democrats now. This election was given to Hussein to teach the other party to return to their roots and to show the American people socialism and big government will not work.

And your tax comment. Those evil rich people........... You really hate people that work harder than you? They probably are giving you a job. After the "evil rich" get their taxes raised, you and the rest of these guineses will be out of there food service jobs.

The biggest night in history: Election Day 2008. Yeah, I am so thrilled that we have a new President, new administration, and a new hope and belief that this country will become better. The Republicans may not be pleased with the sudden changes but they had their chances for eight years. Sadly, they disappointed and brought nothing but pain in this nation. Clinton made this country what it was until Bush took over. Now, Obama, I believe, will make it even better than any past U.S. President has ever did. I SEE THE POWER IN HIM.

I doubt they'll be frequenting this restaurant again any time soon, although they may order in from 1600.

HUFFINGTON POST-

WHY ON EARTH ARE YOU POSTING THE NAME AND ADDRESS OF THE RESTAURANT,PLUS ALL THE OCCASIONS WHEN THE OBAMAS HAVE EATEN THERE?

I love to hear about the rejoicing crowds, etc....AND...we need to be smart about keeping our prez safe

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 03:02 PM on 11/10/2008

Yeah, if only there were like, a service that was... secret and took care of stuff... Folks, seriously, a motorcade and security arrived there, it's not like they had a clandestine liason at the restaurant. A crowd was gathering as they ate dinner, the secret was out long before HuffPo got the "scoop."

I don't think he should go back there, since this article just told everyone the address of the restaurant and the route to get there....

It's a very nice, very well known restaurant in downtown Chicago --- and it's the same one he took Michelle to for their 16th wedding anniversary a couple months ago! No need to stop going - we Chicagoans love BO and Michelle!!!

Everyone in Chicago knows where that Restaurant is and the address is a well-known street.
Its silly to think that we can keep him from going out and keep this famous restaurant a secret. I want him safe, but one can't hide everything. Unless we say that the Obama's are eating in an "undisclosed location", and they have to eat all their meals in the safety of their own home. There has to be a better way.

Palin is off my mind. The question on this site: Did Obama buy the election? We, the American people wanted to buy this election. We were tired of being controlled by "fear." Thank God Obama created a way for us to voice our pent-up emotions with his rallies, and Bush couldn't control us by sending out his Homeland Security team to arrest thousands of us. Also, we owe the Supreme Court a debt of gratitude for intervening when the Republicans went after ACORN. Otherwise, we might have had another stolen election.

So far the sun still rises in the east & sets in the west. The ocean's have not parted yet but of course it has only been 6 days. I can't wait until the "Great One" messes up. Will all of you make the same nasty remarks toward him that you have towards President Bush?
This is how I differ from you bunch. I did not vote for Obama but now that he will be the President I will show him respect because of his office. I will never call him names nor wish him harm.
I am fearful of the damage President Obama & the Democratic Congress will do to our country. I pray that my fears will be proven wrong. For all of you that expect the goverment to take care of you I fear you will be disappointed. Just look at the programs the goverment has controlled. I still can not get that one woman out of my thoughts on election day. After she had voted for Obama she said now she did not have to worry about her mortgage, or buying gas to get to work because she has taken care of him (Obama) & now he would take care of her. Is that really what all of you want? You want to be taken care of by the goverment? Remember the saying, "be careful of what you wish for, you might get it". God Bless the USA & God help the USA!!!

Don't be critical. Remember, it was a republican who has driven this country into the ground the past eight years and made the USA look like a demon to the rest of the world. How is it that under "conservative" leadership, we have accrued a $10 trillion dollar debt? GW has kept the fear of 911 alive for far too long. We CAN be vigilant without having to live in fear day in and day out. And what exactly are we "winning" in Iraq? Another 10 billion dollars a month of OUR money going to an unjust cause and into the pockets of the Military Industrial Complex. I would rather see that money being spent in a positive way that doesn't make rich people richer. We have lost more of our God given rights in the last eight years than in the history of this great nation.

I noticed that you use the word "fear" alot. You, yourself, seem to be very "fearful." We are no longer falling for the politics of fear, so you can give that a rest.
As for the mistakes President Obama will make... they are inevitable. No one is infallible. But so far, coming into office, he has not stolen an election (a very poor way to start your administration, wouldn't you agree?) He is my president and I am proud. But if by some freak of nature, he makes as many mistakes in his first four years as W, he will lose my respect and possibly my vote.
I have never wished harm upon W, but I do not feel I owe respect to any human being because of their job title. Like the rest of us, they have to earn the respect. W has failed miserably in that respect.
Now go hide in your backyard bomb shelter before Vlad Putin drops the big one on you.

To be perfectly pragmatic, the only president worse than Bush was Buchanan. There's no way BHO could do worse than Bush and a great many ways he can, and will, do better.

Michelle Obama is a real woman because she is with a real MAN OF POWER: Barack Obama. Indeed, it is hard to find real sensitive women in this country except for Colombia, the Philippines, and maybe Ukraine.

Laura Bush has more class in one pinky than Mrs. Obama has in her whole body. Hillary Clinton even beats her & I'm no Hillary fan. I saw Mrs. Obama on an NBC interview during the campaign & they were gushing over her about how her style was reminiscent of Mrs. Kennedy. Mrs. Obama had the audacity to refer to Mrs. Kennedy as "Jackie O". How classless is that? That was how the trash mags referred to her. Mrs. Kennedy was our most beautiful, gracious & classy first lady ever & Mrs. Obama called "Jackie O". Mrs. Obama has a long uphill battle to even come close to any of the first ladies that I've observed in my lifetime. I'm sure with the right handlers, stylist, personal shopper & fashion cooridnator she will at least look the part. Oh I forgot spending the that amount of money those people will suggest is way out of line. Seems I remember a lady that was recently furnished with this form of make over & she was trashed to high heaven.
