Obamas

Barack and Michelle Obama had their first dinner out since the election. The pool report:

Barack and Michelle Obama left dinner at Spiaggia at 11pm Saturday night after a roughly three hour dinner.

Dressed in a dark suit and white shirt, Obama waved to an ecstatic crowd gathered across the street as he and Michelle rushed through the cold wind.

Michelle, wearing an elegant black knee-length jacket and tall black boots, held her coat closed as she walked to the waiting SUV.

The crowd continued to rejoice, hugging one another and cheering as the motorcade pulled off.
It was the couple's first dinner out together since his election victory, and they selected the same restaurant where they spent their anniversary and Michelle's birthday this year.

Spiaggia is located at 980 N. Michigan Ave.
The motorcade headed through light traffic on Lakeshore Drive to the Obama's home, where it arrived at 11:18pm.

This is so NOT a story! But I loved reading it anyway. Please pray for their safety ( isn't it a shame that we must pray for the....no one had to pray for Bush's safety and he was the most dangerous man in America....hated by most foreign nations).

BOY I HOPE EVERYONE, INCLUDING HIS LOVING FAMILY, LET'S HIM REALLY REST.

No one can know, not even Michelle, the grueling toll a 21 month campaign can take on the canididate.

Not only that, but he just lost Toot.

Please let's all encourage the President Elect to get some real "down" time. His best advisors ought to be promoting this respite.

Even Rahm might push that the man he is going to support as the gatekeeper, keep Barack on the path of rejuvenating.

Anyone can see that Obama is pooped, and there is no shame in that.

Yup, he's human, folks, just like the rest of us.

Well, what did they order? Come on, someone out there must work at Spiaggia!!

I think enquiring minds want to know how much they tipped, right?

Was the soup cold? What was the room temperature?
Dessert? Linen napkins?

Big fan of Obama . . not a fan of Spiaggia . . Overpriced, overrated and the most over hyped poseur Italian restaurant in Chicago. My office for the past 10 years has been in that building - officially known as ONE MAG MILE. Every celebrity that comes to Chicago seems to feel the need to patronize that place. It has takin a security pass to get into the building since 9/11 and I can only imagine how much more "fun" it will be from here on out. BTW: Saw Britney Spears tumble down the escalator when she was there oh some many years ago.

Yeah, the menu is way too fussy -- one ingredient too many in every dish.

great choice for dinner--those afraid for Obama should realize he is in his last days of fun during these three months--after that he will never be alone--let him be normal for at least these times!!

Today's Gallup polls show a huge amount of support for Barak Obama.

As to whether or not Americans support his taking a night off with his wife...

78% said were okay with the main course and only slightly concerned with the desert choices.
15% said they would have preferred to see Michelle order the salad instead of the lobster bisque.
6% were critical of the silverware
1% stated that they were most concerned with the tip the Obama's left on the table (of course, that one percent was Ted, their Waiter)

In a related story, 93,802 Americans went out for dinner last night...and no one noticed.

;)

I know this is paranoid, but please don't give out the addresses of places Mr. Obama goes like that.

Please.

I agree. It isn't a good idea to give out that kind of information for a lot of reasons.

I can't say that I ever recall information such as a time table given out for something as a night out with a spouse...seems a bit off kilter to me!

I know...that struck me as a bit odd too...unless they were just giving "free" advertisement for Spiaggia's.

I agree. We may be giddy about them but this is not the world we live in. They need to keep things like that close to the chest.

they gave the address after they had long left, though it seemed odd to give times of departure, etc. It was also unnecessary! It was clearly a boost for the restaurant's business!

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 08:51 PM on 11/09/2008

Anyone bent on messing with him could Google the address in a snap.

It's really nice that President-elect Obama makes time for anniversaries, Halloween and just plain dinner out with his family. It's so nice to see, isn't it?

So let me get this straight here... You got your panties in a twist because...uh...
You think this is important news that needs exposure?
If the ENTIRE "story" can be summarized by three words "Obama eats dinner"...
IT'S NOT A STORY!

Jesus H....get OVER yourself!

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 09:34 PM on 11/09/2008

When I first read this headline, I could have sworn it said, "Obama eats out for the first time since win," which, in my opinion, was too much information.
