Glamour Editor Compares Sarah Palin To Martha Stewart

What does offend Leive, however, is "the venom with which some women have reacted to her. She has strong political views, but so do lots of men. The glee with which some women are jumping on her demise kind of turns me off. It reminds me of Martha Stewart," she went on.

"Back in the day when she first had her TV show, there were a lot of women who just loved to hate on Martha Stewart. And on some level it always seemed like they were feeling put down by her choices. Here's this woman who's stenciling her mantle. It makes you as a woman feel like you're not woman enough if you're not stenciling your mantle. A man encounters Bob Vila and he doesn't think, �Who is this A-hole rebuilding his deck? I don't have time to rebuild my deck! How dare he tell me to do that!' A guy would just turn the channel, you know. And women should be able to do that, too. Why do you feel like that's a referendum on how you live your life? Women take Sarah Palin's choices really personally.

How dare you compare Sarah Palin to Martha Stewart . That is an insult to Martha Stewart . Listen I get sick of people comparing this broad to successful intelligent women. First, they tried to align her with Hillary Clinton which I never understood. Then Roseanne Barr another polar opposite of Palin. Now Martha Stewart..... She is a joke and an insult to every woman who voted for her and every woman who did not vote for her

No comparison. Martha is educated, intelligent and successful and was more of a role model for women in business than a stay at home mom, even though her business focused on domestic activities.
Palin is like the stage mom who manipulates and bullies her way into positions and has proven she does not play well with others.
I don't think Martha could do what she does successfully if she was not a true team player.

Martha never used her sexuality always her brains and she came off more attractive than Sarah could ever be IMO...Sarah set women right back to the "Marilyn Monroe' image we worked hard to get rid of...No comparison. I have always adored Martha...now compare Martha to Hillary and you have a story

I'm a woman who has taken Sarah Palin's choices very personally. The pit bull in lipstick. She very well might have become the President of the United States (I need to spit when I say that). Over and over I had the opportunity to see how divisive and provocative she was, and how shamelessly she promoted lies and innuendo about Obama's background, associations and character. Rather than offering one good idea to help our country move in a positive direction, her strategy was always tear-down. Many of us women were outraged by her counterproductive behavior toward Barack Obama, coupled with an appalling deficit of presidential qualities on her part.

The Martha Stewart comparison doesn't work for me. I woke up November 5th grateful I wouldn't have to worry any longer about Sarah Palin grabbing the national reins. Since then, I've been sleeping easier.
