Kristol Re-Starting Militaristic Neocon Think Tank

It looks like Bill Kristol may be making good on his threat to revive the Project for the New American Century. Since May, visitors to PNAC's website were informed that "this account has been suspended," but now the website is back up, though it does not seem to have been updated with any new material.

PNAC's militaristic ultra-nationalism is implicated in some of the worst mischief of the Bush years, from the "global war on terror" to the invasion of Iraq to President Bush's support for Israel's refusal to negotiate with the Palestinians. Many of its members served as advisers to John McCain's presidential campaign. Bill Kristol is still listed as PNAC's chairman, and is known to be "exceptionally close" to the senator. McCain's top foreign policy aide, Randy Scheunemann, serves as PNAC's project director. McCain spokesperson Michael Goldfarb is also listed as a PNAC research associate.

Doing the exact opposite is usually the correct course of action.

The U.S. military presence, over 360 bases world wide cannot be sustained. If not due to the economy,
then due to the destruction of the military by W and his neocons. It will quickly come to a choice between feeding Americans, and continuing the Right Wing's failed attempt at hegemony. The Right Wing nuts are aware of this and are gearing up for the fight to propagate their henious egenda.

Those who promote military action, the Warmongers are going to have a sad few years.

To quote Bill Maher, "if 60 percent of Republicans want Palin, 100 percent of Democrats want her to
represent Republicans." Bill Kristol and Palin will go a long way towards helping the extreme right loose any shreds of credibility it still has with rational people.

PNAC is a 20th century concept trying to find its place in a 21st century world.

This country had been slowly evolving into that which we have sacrificed countless lives opposing--a militant nation with an agenda driven by religious extremists who promote freedom of thought only so long as it does not conflict with their own ideas. Sound familiar? Under the Bush/Cheney Administration, we had become the enemy.

Ever since the 1960's, the GOP consistently has been, and will always be, the party of exclusion, the party that attempts to diminish those who look different than themselves, pray to a different deity, or follow a different lifestyle. They are the party that uses fear and hatred as a weapon to intimidate any who do not share their points of view.

It is time for a fresh perspective, a new philosophy of America's place in the world. It can no longer be us versus them at all costs; the world is far too small for such a narrow-minded point of view.

It is time to embrace those who are different than ourselves and accept them for who they are--it would be the "christian" thing to do. President-elect Obama is the perfect person to lead our nation in this cause and once again transform our nation into a positive, democratic beacon for the rest of the world.
