Matt Lauer's Divorce Laughed About On "Today" Show (VIDEO)

Matt Lauer's marital history sent the "Today" show host and his co-host Meredith Vieira into a fit of laughter Monday morning.

Intro-ing a segment on the "right age to get married," Vieira said, "I got married in my 30s, when did you get married?"

Lauer — who married TV producer Nancy Alspaugh when in his mid-20s, only to get divorced seven years later — stuttered, fumbled, and then laughed, as an embarrassed Vieira burst into laughter and producers shouted, "Nice!"

Lauer's marriage to Annette Roque, the Dutch model, has also been peppered with problems. The pair separated in 2006 and subsequently reconciled.

He's the jerk in High School that ran for Student Body President and usually won. No one really liked him, but no one wanted to be his enemy for fear of retribution. At high school reunions, he would be known as that guy who every talks about "What happened to HIM?!"

Here's the thing. You have to give him credit for trying to work on the marriage. For a while, the tabloids were making hay out of the fact that his wife appears to have a serious eating disorder. That has got to be so hard to deal with. So really, they have problems, just ike everybody and he didn't run out on his kids, and he is being a husband and father and I am sure, just like the rest of us, tries his best.

After all the REAL news that has been given to me over the past few months with the election it's hard to go back to the fluffy entertainment crap that the Today show dishes out. Lauer and gang really struggle to get my respect when they do a story on potty training cats and try to follow it with something sober like starving children in Rwanda. I'm completely over the fluffy bubble-gum news that's so common now.

And how about some GOOD news every once in a while? Good things do happen in this world you know! Maybe if we talked about the GOOD things in the world we would have more good things happen.

Lauer lost my respect when he and Cute-As-A-­Bug's-Ear-­Katie-Cour­ic were flailing around and freaking out on September 12 - both proved themselves to be the lightweights they really are.
