Matt Lauer's Divorce Laughed About On "Today" Show (VIDEO)

Matt Lauer's marital history sent the "Today" show host and his co-host Meredith Vieira into a fit of laughter Monday morning.

Intro-ing a segment on the "right age to get married," Vieira said, "I got married in my 30s, when did you get married?"

Lauer — who married TV producer Nancy Alspaugh when in his mid-20s, only to get divorced seven years later — stuttered, fumbled, and then laughed, as an embarrassed Vieira burst into laughter and producers shouted, "Nice!"

Lauer's marriage to Annette Roque, the Dutch model, has also been peppered with problems. The pair separated in 2006 and subsequently reconciled.

Oh give me a break...Matt Lauer is not gay, why do people start these rumors? Could he be gay? Sure, but is he gay?, No!...go back to Tom Cruise, who isn't gay either, but folks like to beat him up too. You never get this right...there are lots of gay men right before your eyes and you haven't a clue, but why should you...people shouldn't be outed if that isn't their choice...but in this case, these people are entirely wrong about Matt.

oh my gosh, this "happily ever after" crap IS THE PROBLEM, folks.

there is no 'happily ever after." there is only the PRESENT MOMENT, and in a committed relationship like "marriage" you still get all the many different types of moments every other human being gets: "good" moments and "bad" moments. until we manage our expectations about the mythical "happily ever after" the pace of our species' evolution will continue to seem arrested.

"happiness" is when you're ok with what happens. it's much less of a challenge to experience happiness during the "good" moments than the "bad" ones. that's why committed relationships take EFFORT. healthy relationships are SUPPOSED to bring up challenges.

many people just aren't that motivated or excited about making the effort it takes because it's very distracting from all the imagined "happiness" we expect to be given from the external world, which, as every book of true wisdom throughout our history appears to indicate, isn't really possible.
