Bush: I Regret Saying "Bring 'Em On"

As his presidency nears its end, a reflective President Bush suggested Tuesday he regrets some of his more blunt statements on the war on terror over the last eight years.

"I regret saying some things I shouldn't have said," Bush told CNN's Heidi Collins Twhen asked to reflect on his regrets over his two terms as president. "Like 'Dead or Alive' and 'Bring 'em on.' My wife reminded me that, hey, as president of the United States be careful what you say."

I believe Bush intended to leave Iraq after the capture/death of Saddam Hussein. People clamored for more - to stop organized terror groups and so the situation was expanded using special forces, as part of a hit and run strategy, which was mainly successful. Then, John Kerry suggested winning the peace and ..... then the entended campaign in Bagdad arose.

I believe the democrats are responsble for the long protracted situation, and various groups took advantage and the situation stagnated with no clear goal in mind.

If we were wealthy enough we could have lobbied Congress, or gotten enough lawsuits in the Courts, to shackle the jerk. And to impeach him, and put him in jail long ago, as he certainly deserved in a law and justice abiding nation.
