Ritchie

Politico reports:

Republicans are also questioning the credibility of Minnesota's Secretary of State Mark Ritchie, the man tasked with overseeing the recount. A background document distributed by national Republicans portrays Ritchie as a far-left, Democratic version of Katherine Harris, the former Republican secretary of state whose actions helped decide the 2000 presidential election. The document accuses Ritchie, who was elected in 2006 with the assistance of a progressive-led group designed to elected Democratic election administrators, of having connections to the controversial voter registration group ACORN and the Communist Party of America.

Ritchie has promised a nonpartisan, transparent recount. He was elected in 2006 after accusing the Republican incumbent of using the office to partisan advantage.

In their effort to take control of the United States the Republicans tried to get every state to elect a Republican as Secretary of State so they could oversee all elections and control the outcome especially with the use of Diebold voting equiptment. Republicans were not concerned with any other political position except that one. By looking at election data the Republicans started their efforts in the early 1990's but their greed ,arrogance, and ignorance undermined their efforts. If you want the party that does as little as possible for the nation and as much as possible for it's own perpetration then the Republican Party was tailor-made for you.

Why would a Communist be connected to a group that works to encourage voting?

When are Republicans going to stop with this crazy communist, Marist, socialist, ACORN........etc etc.........the voters including many many in their own party repudiated this nonsense in favor of dealing with the real problems in our country...............do they still not get it?

Americans are tired of distractions and name calling.........to persist just leaves them further behind.............if they don't stop it, the libertarian party will be rolling right past them...........they made huge gains in party numbers this year as former Republicans searched for a party..............

Why can't the Republicans make up their minds? Either a state's Secretary of State's office is in charge (in Florida, yes) or it isn't (in Minnesota, no). Huh? Either the elected official is fair (Katherine Harris, who headed up Bush'd reelection committee in Florida), or he isn't (Mark Ritchie, unafilliated with either Senate campaign but a known COMMUNIST and an ACORN enabler!). Now if the G.O.P. could only figure out how to get the dispute settled in the U.S. Supreme Court...Stay tuned.

Somebody ought to have told the GOP that Communism ceased to exist in 1990 when the [former] USSR imploded & became the Confederation of Independent States, aka Russia. Would somebody send this message to the GOP by way of Matt Drudge-just like W sends messages to BHO, please? Thanks.

Has a Republican anywhere ever read the "The Boy Who Cried Wolf"? Does anyone take these charges seriously anymore? Oh, wait, Michelle Bachmann was re-elected? Oh. What's that? Norm Coleman got over 1.2 million votes? I see. Well, good luck, Minnesota.

They never stop do they. Out to destroy and smear anyone who doesn't follow their version of the rules. If the person is not a Republican, then obviously they are a far-left, Communist, terrorist, bleeding-heart liberal. Thank goodness for Pres-Elect Obama. It's time to get things done so we can grind the GOP into the ground until they finally figure out that dividing us is not the way to run the country.

Let 'em count the votes and hopefully we will be seeing Senator Al Franken of the Great State of Minnesota in 2009.

Give 'em hell Al!

I love the way these guys call everyone a communist. They are leaving a stain as they go down the drain.

It's not FAAAAIR..... Republicans are supposed to win any way they can, it's just MEAN when somebody wants to go back and count all the votes.

Those damned Diebold vote-fraud machines are still out there -- here's hoping the hand-count sends Franken to DC and Coleman to obscurity.

Too many issues with their logic to count. One has to marvel at the coincidence, though, by which everything they oppose somehow originates from "Commies". It's a global conspiracy, apparently.

Elections should not be run by secretaries of State, and should be run by a bi-partisan committee to avoid this kind of crap.

In Colorado we had out Secretary of State over seeing an election that he was running in!

There's a nuanced difference between Ritchie and Harris. Richie wants to count the votes. Harris wanted to stop counting the votes. Conservatives never do nuance.

I'm watching Sean interview Deepak Chopra. The topic is Evil, and Deepak is so deep, Sean can't even relate. In fact, the difference between Chopra's spiritual understanding and Sean's lack of spiritual understanding, particularly on this subject, is very revealing. Sean is so far out of his league that all he can do is resort to making jokes about Chopra's glasses.

Now, what were talking about here. Oh yeah, the hypocrisy of the GOP! I guess I didn't get too far off subject after all!

The GOP and Coleman, for that matter, should be ashamed of the way they are acting. Only about two hundred votes separate the two. Minnesota has laws, and we follow them. This isn't Florida or Ohio (no offense to the people living in those states), and we would rather not become one. But Coleman is acting like such a baby, when we all know full well that he would do the same thing if the was Franken in the lead. It's getting embarrassing to live in this state.

Ohio under Ken Blackwell was the Vote Fraud Capital of Ohio ... I'm glad to see Minnesota has more sensible rules. Nothing to be embarasses about if you aren't a Minnesota Republican. Between Coleman and Bachmaniac...

Funny, though, isn't it --- when the Republicans win, they don't care how funny the election smells. When somebody who isn't one of their puppets says "wait a minute, let's make sure this is ACCURATE," they scream like the crybabies they are.
