Sarah Palin's youngest daughter and campaign sidekick Piper gave her first interview ever on Tuesday's "Today" Show. As the governor made halibut and salmon casserole in the family's Wasilla kitchen, Matt Lauer turned to Piper for her thoughts on the 2008 campaign. The 7-year-old reflected on the hardships of the campaign trail ("All the rallies"), how much school she missed ("A lot") and weighed in on the 2012 question.

In all fairness, I think it would have been a tragedy for Piper to miss this amazing experience in her mom's life. Piper is obviously a very smart little girl - I think it's fair to say that she will easily catch up on the couple months she missed, and obviously, her parents believed that as well.

What a darling little girl -- she is more eloquent than her mother and even more of a Diva!! Sarah might be the Grandma moving into the White House in 2044!

Can anyone write an article chronicling Sarah Palin's cooking activities for each of her interviews. It seems as if she is trying to appear like Donna Reed. Moose Chili, Moose hot dogs, Moose sausage, and now halibut and salmon casserole. Are we really supposed to see her as a world leader?

Here is a perfect example of Palin's mothering-by-hypnosis, sorcery and intimidation -- the exact tactics she employs when addressing a crowd.

The child was being honest in her answers, until proded by her mother. Piper knew she better give the answer her mother wanted and delivered accordingly, followed by an affirmation by her mother, ''It was fun,'' to reinforce the child's conditioning, just in case Piper had any doubt.

This one-minute video tells the entire story of Sarah Palin's rise to fame and her ability to control large masses of people.

BTW, not to criticize Piper, but most 7 year olds have been taught, either in school if not by their parents, to say ''yes'' instead of ''yeah.''

Oh please. You make Sarah Palin seem like the reincarnation of Joan Crawford. All that's missing is a reference to a wire coat hanger.

Piper is so cute. I thought women were suposed to be able to multi-task, have the family, the career, the whole 9. Stop all the haten'

In the Greta interview, Palin herself seems utterly giddy talking about her experiences as the GOP VP candidate (including multiple versions within the same interview about how/who/when McCain asked her to be his VP nominee and she accepted). To me, it's an extremely odd giddiness -- like someone truly COMPLETELY out of her element -- rather than a modest knowledgeable self-assured emerging national leader. Same for the high school girl giddiness she displayed during the prank call with "French president Sarkozy" a few weeks ago...."helloooOoooo!"..."we LOVE you!"

Given the track record so far (or Track record, as it were), her oldest child is a high-school drop-out, her oldest daughter is pregnant and about to marry a high-school drop-out (possibly dropping out of school herself in order to give birth & marry), Palin's husband Todd did not pursue a college degree, and Palin herself took at least 5 years to complete a degree in sports journalism...and went on to make her priority as mayor of Wasilla, Alaska, the building of a sports complex that put the city in deep debt, rather than anything toward intellectual advancement within her community. By example of reality, Palin clearly does not place an earnestly high premium on education -- in her family or within her state. Let's hope that those "dividend" checks belonging to Piper Palin that Piper has never seen (per Sarah) actually end up as the "college fund" she assured Greta existed.

My daughter has straight "A's". Mainly because she is highly intelligent, but also, because I put her needs above my own. Like any good parent would do. What is up with that Sarah? OOOPS I forgot that you have and AXIS II disorder,

I am so sick of Palin and all her choreography. Cooking during an interview on national television? PLEASE! If she can't take time out to do an interview, how is she going to run a state, let alone have her eyye on the big prize? Never once did I ever witness her male counterparts changing the spark plugs on their cars while doing a press piece. He has far exceeded her push on the "Woman" issue. Mt heart goes out to her little girl. I think this little kid has been strapped with tons of respomsibility so Mama can do her thing. When Matt Lauer asked her if she wanted to go out and campaign again she sheepishly said, "I don't know," and when her Mother cut in to ask her if she didn't think that would be fun, she obediently answered yes. I wonder how the poor little girl felt, being booed at sporting events. Perhaps I am wrong....maybe Sarah would make a great world leader, but she sure leaves alot to be desired as a Mom.

For those of you who compare the two families, the Obama kids stayed back either with Michelle or their grand mother. They appeared very few times. The Palin kids left Alaska and stayed all the time campaigning. There is a big difference. Mechelle is planning to stop working once in Washington to take care of her girls. No one is asking Palin to stop working, but she should have left her kids back in Alaska to attend school. She has siblings and parents. They could have assumed that role instead of taking her kids more than 2 months out of school.

I was appalled to learn from Matt Lauer during the interview on the Today Show that Piper (Palin"s younger daughter) was missing classes all the time she was with her mother and the family while campaigning, and it is very hard for her to catch up now. This means that the older sister too missed school?

Matt asked Piper if she would like to go campaigning again with her mom in 2012, to which Sarah looked at her daughter and said "that would be fun, huh?" Unless her daughters had tutors during the campaign, I would have to point out that Sarah Palin was only thinking of her ambition, not of her daughters' education. What kind of a mother would do that and what kind of a leader would she be if she gave so little importance to education? No one in the media pointed this out. NO ONE! I am really shocked.

After seeing Greta Van Susteren's interview in Palin's kitchen, (which was like watching paint dry--seeing her stuff those hot dogs) I was struck by Piper's insistence in getting camera time. That in and of itself isn't strange for a kid but did anyone notice how she slammed that pot holder down in front of her mother? Palin mentioned one of the kids made it--maybe Piper did and wanted recognition. Maybe she gave it to her as a gift. Who knows. I used to make those as a kid and give them as presents and they were a pain to make with little fingers. It was like "GIVE ME ATTENTION"! I see a little girl who is in obvious need of her mother's attention. While Palin parades this girl around, one has to wonder what kind of real mother/daughter time she really gives her. Like someone said--she seems to use her kids like props. At the convention, the baby was being passed around like a hot potato.

Piper Palin is so adorable! It's nice to see the Palin family in a more friendly and domestic setting. At times during the campaign, Sarah Palin irritated me so much, but this interview shows a sweeter side of her and her family.

I am a little disappointed to hear that Piper missed so much school, but I'm sure the Obama girls missed a little as well. All part of being a politician's kid, I guess.

Last I heard, the Obama kids didn't miss any school.
I remember seeing news shows about how the parents were very strict of their kids missing any school.

I guess that's the difference between parents that want the best for their kids and parents that want the best for themselves.

Yep, I agree Wilsnov. It seemed like her kids were never in school. And letting the press interview her like that is not good.

How are you so sure that the Obama girls missed school Ms-Fu?

What is sure is that Piper missed school ALOT, she said so herself! You're quite sly in stringing together your lies inwhich will go viral across the world by insinuating the Obama girls missed school just like Piper.

It's a new age Ms_fu you might as well get use to it. President Barack Obama and The First Lady Michelle Obama in da HOUSE! With their kids and Big Momma in tow. Don't hate, appreciate.
