I Like ItI Don’t Like It

Sarah Palin's youngest daughter and campaign sidekick Piper gave her first interview ever on Tuesday's "Today" Show. As the governor made halibut and salmon casserole in the family's Wasilla kitchen, Matt Lauer turned to Piper for her thoughts on the 2008 campaign. The 7-year-old reflected on the hardships of the campaign trail ("All the rallies"), how much school she missed ("A lot") and weighed in on the 2012 question.

**See Piper wear high heels during the interview**

Let's hope that little girl Palin is a lot smarter than her mother in 40 years.

Piper is a dear. I hope there is someone sensible looking out for those kids. I don't know any mother who would subject their kids, especially a newborn with special needs, to that kind of grueling travel.

Imagine what the right-wing would have been saying if the Obama kids were dragged onstage at every opportunity?

The rightwing DID go after Pres-elect Obama's little girls when someone from the Hollywood media interviewd them. We're better than that.

I think Piper is a little sweetheart. She's so cute when she holds her little brother. I will not go after children period.

Is it just me or does it seem strange to expose your young children to all the campaign drama?

this woman clearly has narcissistic personality disorder. There is no cure for it. She does not care about the effect this is having on her children.....Don't believe me here are the symptoms you be the judge....
has a grandiose sense of self-importance
is preoccupied with fantasies of unlimited success, power, brilliance, beauty, or ideal love
believes that he or she is "special" and unique
requires excessive admiration
has a sense of entitlement
is interpersonally exploitative
lacks empathy
is often envious of others or believes others are envious of him or her
shows arrogant, haughty behaviors or attitudes

Yea...it was fun alright. She got to miss school, parade around the country as a prop for her mother's campaign, wearing really expensive clothes and carrying a $900 purse. Yea, fun.

BUT......now she is suffering with having to make up school, and it looms that it may happen again in a few years.

Sarah, let it go, your kids are the ones who are suffering through this. What a great role model.

Why were this kids yanked out of school for their mother's campaign? Child actors have to receive daily tutoring on the set. Aren't there laws protecting a child's education? I guess in Alaska anything goes...at least for Governor Palin.

I guess there was no tutor. Which means that pregnant Bristol has not only missed much of her 11th grade with mono, but also much of her 12th grade (and will miss a lot more due to her pregnancy). Plus her boyfriend (they haven't married yet) dropped out before graduating.

Looks like THEY are well on the way to success.

As soon as those front teeth grow back, she will be propelled onto the runway of miss teen or something very profitable where basic education is not required.

Hey, come on,

Piper is one of the only cool points in the election. We didn't need to prove that her parents are psychos. Piper at least was cute and sweet.

What's the surprise about this woman and her values? -- on the trail, she denigrated anyone with an top level education as an "elitist" who was out of touch with "real" America. She herself has risen to dizzying heights without ever having to improve her mind past very far past the level of someone able to spell their name and sign a contract.... so why is it a surprise that her daughter's education is of little value to her.

Would it really have been too much to hire a tutor for her on the campaign trail? Better way to spend some of that 150,000, no? Or for Todd-no-job to stay at home and be a full-time parent? Or would that have too emasculated the First Dude?

Spouting family values is one thing. Living them another.

To all the people who wondered about the kids' school attendance, here is your answer.

Sarah Palin lied about the school stuff. She indicated that the kids were flying to and from Alaska for school and homework. This kid just told all and said she missed a whole lot of school, more like the entire time Palin was campaigning.

Yea, that sounds like even worse parenting. Not only haul them all over the country for political gain....and send them flying back and forth for school and homework.

What a lie.....almost everytime I saw Palin, Piper was right there with her. Parading her children on stage everywhere. Yet she wanted her children's privacy.

Also, parading Trig around all of those crowds at under 6 months of age. No one should put a tiny baby near that many people and germs, let alone one who has health problems. And someone pointed out lately that she was carrying Trig in Alaska on the early morning hours without shoes or socks on. Yet, everyone else in the videos were wearing pants, shoes and COATS,

Man, she is trying to charm the crap out of us - inviting the press to her house for the week to film her little kids while she cooks?! And what kind of a parent asks their child a hefty question like "Would you want to do a national campaign again?" in front of strangers, let alone TV cameras?

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 11:14 AM on 11/12/2008

A hint, send the kid to school so she won't wind up like her mom. Okay, forget the Africa and North America stuff, Sarahahaha didn't have a clue about the constitutional duties and authority of the VP. This my ninth graders understood or were re-taught back in the day.

This woman is such a ditz. She cares NOTHING about her children. This is the first time I have seen her holding that little baby. No mother takes all of her children out of school and drags them around the countryside in order to enhance her own career. She could have hired someone to take care of them so that they didn't miss school. Her father lives right there. Oh, I suppose school isn't a priority in Palin's world. God will show her the way. You can tell the influence Palin has on her kids when Piper is asked how she feels about going on the campaign trail again in four years. Piper says she doesn't know - an honest answer. Sara shines her magic smile on Piper and says "Would you want to go again?????" Piper then says, "Yes." In other words, mom wants you to say yes, so you had better do so.

Palin is ignoring the needs of that baby. Downs children need special care. They can even benefit from simple manipulation of the muscles because they do not normally have very good muscle tone. That child has been dragged around like a rag doll. Later in the interview, Pipe is trying to carry Trip up the stairs and you can see that she is struggling. Obscene!

Yea....and in a latest video, it shows Piper wearing really tall heels (at least 4 inch), carrying Trig around. Yep....good mom she is.

you are a hundred percent correct!!! sweet baby Trig should be receiving physical therapy to help with large and small muscle coordination. It's a darn shame that the only persons best interests that are being taken care of are Sarah's.

Enough already with using children as political props for celebrity points! Good Christian parents keep their kids in school and get them to bed at a decent hour. The Palins could take some parenting lessons from the Obamas, who live the sort of "family values" life the right-wingers only preach about.
