worst show ever.
GOOD RIDDANCE!
pure garbage.
I love MAD TV, it is 100% times better than SNL. If it were not for the presidential race skits on SNL, the show would have been horrendous!!! MAD TV should be picked up by comedy central, that is a better home for MAD TV. I will miss the show when it goes of the air in May. After the first 5 minutes of SNL, I would then tune in to MAD TV, and watch that the rest of MAD TV for the rest of the hour.
SNL always sucks after the first 5 minutes, and nothing is oing to change unless they get new writers on SNL, and do it fast!!!
I seriously thought it had been cancelled years ago.
Honestly, I'm surprised as to how the show lasted as long as it did. Compared to SNL, the show seemed amateurish and simply less funny.
I haven't found this show funny since I was 12. The same goes for SNL (except for the political sketches this year).
The skit about the drunk who woke up in the Whitehouse only to learn he was elected president is one I would like to see again. It predated bush by at least a year.
MadTV used to be funny but the last few years the show has been horrible, with the exception of Michael McDonald and Paul Voight. The writing and skits have been terrible.
It's funnier than SNL. It would be nice if they could avoid cancellation by having Comedy Central buy them out.
finally! this show's been swirling down the crapper since losing memorable cast members like alex borstein, will sasso, nicole sullivan and debra wilson. heck, even aries spears had his moments! but now the show lacks characters that you could get behind. all the show seems to do now is parody other shows. i say, good riddance.
I agree.
It's about effin' time.
This show has been sub-par since Day One-- and I know what I'm talking about; I was there.
It just. Isn't. Funny. It survived this long ONLY because of it's pre-SNL timeslot. (SNL goes through long dry periods of suckage as well, but it's venerable. I'm usually willing to wait out the bad seasons.)
Maybe now there will be space for a decent SNL competitor. There hasn't been one since Kids in the Hall or In Living Color.
Remember FRIDAYS?
A funnier show than SNL, and has been for quite some time. The great virtue of Mad TV was that it hired true comedians, people who could think on their feet, do pratfalls, invest themselves completely in their skit roles...the lot. SNL, by contrast, is like a simulacrum of a comedy show, a million miles from its roots in Second City.
