damn!
I'll never forget the original cast and the Cabana Chat sketches with Aries Spears as James Brown Junior!
I dunno seems like it could have a life on Comedy Central but like SNL you have to record it to skip the unfunny parts. Now at least I don't have to record both and cut 15 min from each.
Bobby Lee as John McCain was hilarious.
Does this news make anyone else "MAD"?
maybe SNL should hire some of these funny people.
With so many networks and cable channels can someone else pick it up? Comedy Central?
"Missy Missy Swan" is genius!
Genius. Miss Swan.
Really?
Please explain to me why "he looka like a man"-- repeated FOREVER-- is funny.
I'll take the Vancome Lady any day-- she had her moments.
Miss Swan, and "Kenny Loggins" are excellent examples of why this show should have been dumped years ago.
Ever since Nicole Sullivan, Phil LaMarr, Debra Wilson and that gang left, it wasn't funny anymore. And, if it weren't for SNL's political sketches, they would be obsolete as well.
good madtv sucked
it's about time...that show hasn't been funny in a loooooong time.
Oh my bad! I read the title "Fox Cancels Mad TV" and thought they were finally giving Sean Hannity and the rest of FoxNews the ax! *giggle*
LOL I nominate this the post of the day!
hah! good one!
This show was waaay funnier than SNL. This show was gut busting funny
What's "Mad TV?"
Michael McDonald (Stewart), Mo Collins (Lorraine), Stephanie Weir (The Old Lady), Nicole Sullivan (Lancome Lady), Alex Bornstein (Mrs. Swan), Bobby Lee (Connie Chung), and Debra Wilson (Whitney Houston)!!!
These are the actors (characters) that I will miss most!
I think the show pretty much lost it when they changed their format and Michael McDonald left.
Mad TV was consistently funnier than SNL (and I've been a fan of SNL for a looonnng time). Mad being a pre-taped show allowed them to hone and edit their sketches. SNL's mad dash to be live on Saturday just isn't the same. SNL ends up being a mixed bag. The funny sketches up front and the not so funny sketches after 11:30 central time.
Auf Wiedersehen Mad TV. At least there's always the reruns on Comedy Central (for now.)
Oh oh, hot dog! Look what I can do!!
True, SNL is (and has always been) a mixed bag. But they have a long track record of coming back from their bad periods. For example, Weekend Update has been consistently hilarious for many seasons now (the last time it unequivocally sucked was back when Colin Farrell-- that hack-- was the anchor).
Anyway, SNL's latest trick has been their (pre-recorded) Digital Shorts-- every one of which has been a total gas.
I stopped watching after Chevy left. I love them little Feltch movies.
This is really sad because over the last decade for sure, MAD TV was always so much funnier than Saturday Night Live. Always. Well, the one exception was the first time Justin Timberlake hosted. The whole show hilarious. But other than that, MAD TV has been the king of Late Saturday Night TV.
