Wow...
This show was so much better than Saturday Night Live for several years, it wasn't even close.
As someone said, these guys didn;t work with cue cards for the sketches, which made it funnier. SNL hasn't done that since the early days.
It will be missed
SNL is a shell of its former self. The Tina Fey routine grew stale VERY fast.
This show used to be sooooo funny. Debra Wilson, Nicole Sullivan, Will Sasso, Alex Berstein, Michael McDonald, Aries Spears, etc, etc, etc. It was funnier than SNL for years. The Whitney/Bobby skit, Stuart, Pool Boy, etc. Lately though, it's definitely gone down hill and I will miss it.
I'll miss the show from the first 10 or 11 years. The last two years have been awful.
I agree ... in the beginning it was way funnier than SNL. It has lost it's edge lately tho.
Wow. This show was a major part of my teenage years. I feel a little sad at the cancellation of this show.
I thought it was pretty funny during the first two seasons, but then again I was a dumb 20 year old at the time.
i haven't watched MadTV for at least 5 years but omg, in the late 90s and early 00's that show was funnier than SNL on their best night. many of the original cast moved on to better things, and good for them cause they were truly talented.
First off they should have chosen a different day/time slot.
Their special video satires were always better that SNL.
FOX cut their budget so it was hard for them to compete.
SNL skits have gone down hill despite great talent bits are way too long and get tiring real fast.
Vancom Lady and UPS Guy were classic.
It sure would be a shame if this brilliant brand of humor/satire were allowed to go down.
I hope another network picks them up.
Mad TV dosen't read cue cards - SNL - they all just read cue cards - they don't even try to hide it.
I think MadTV is taped, so if someone forgets a line they can just retake it.
SNL is actually live and script changes are made at the very last minute sometimes.
The best cast members of SNL and Mad TV would make one great show...........
This is a show that has had some incredibly funny castmembers and writing. But the latest incarnation was puzzlingly bad.
Yeah. The last cast was a terrible disappointment. And, echoing JDOK, I'd like to see the original MAD TV cast members go to SNL and replace about 2/3 of the cast. SNL currently has about 15 minutes of funny and 75 minutes of "WTF!?"
original MAD TV cast members go to SNL --
That would be awesome.
They USED to be funny as heck, but the last two years have been so bad I wanted to throw things at the TV. And this nonstop pushing Bobby Lee made me gag, because HE WAS NOT FUNNY yet he seemed to have an awful lot of air time. I HATED him.
Instead of canceling they should have just gotten rid of most of the cast and looked for FUNNY people or gone back and looked at what made them funny cuz they sure lost it..
Wow! I liked Bobby Lee best of all. Different strokes, huh?
I luuuuv Mad TV.Debra doing Whitney one of my favs, ahhh soo many good spoofs.MadTv was much funnier than SNL all these years. You will be missed;)
