According to the historical record, when Georgia Senator Saxby Chambliss first ran against and defeated Max Cleland, he ran some incendiary ads that drew the ire of John McCain, who said:

"I'd never seen anything like that ad. Putting pictures of Saddam Hussein and Osama bin Laden next to the picture of a man who left three limbs on the battlefield -- it's worse than disgraceful. It's reprehensible."

We also know that as recently as the 2008 campaign, Keeper Of The McCain Hagiography Mark Salter was arguing in favor of McCain, saying stuff like:

"We're talking about someone who was willing to die before losing his honor! He would die!"

Since McCain is now officially stumping for Saxby Chambliss in the Georgia Senate race run-off, I am forced to conclude that the honorable Senator has become a member of the undead horde of zombies. Good luck, Georgia!

The real abomination of this election is that McCain got 46.2% of voters. It makes me want to vomit.

Totally agree. Especially since I'm still here in "Vote For The Chick" country.

Did people ever stop to think that John McCain's so called heroic image was just created by the press and now people are seeing the real John McCain in person and not through rose colored glasses.

From "reprehensible" to "esteemed colleague" is not a difficult turnabout when words have no meaning beyond the political moment. I truly believe that the technology has run far ahead of the ideology- politicians still think we won't remember the BS they told us yesterday if they just say it with conviction. But blogs like these catch them every time, and have long memories.
No John, No, Sarah- we have not forgotten the words you spoke during the campaign. They will come back to haunt you...

After the Presidential campaign, I've come to the solid conclusion that John McCain's honor, judgment and integrity has a combined ON/OFF switch.

If John McCain were running against [insert anyone's name here], I couldn't vote for him. His POW crap is meaningless; he has no honor.

He might as well be the real John McCain now. He ain't gonna be president so I guess he knows the "Maverick" mask is off to now do his thing.

Well, since Johnny has already sold his soul to the right wing of his party, what's a little more hypocritical actions from the Senator from AZ?

McCain is rudderless. I never thought he would become what he is now. He was once an inspiration to many. No longer.

I just sent a check to Jim Martin. Saxby Chambliss must be defeated! Obama has sent organizers to GA to do their thing. The GOP is sending John McCain and Sarah Palin - to Georgia. It's going to get ugly out there.
