According to the historical record, when Georgia Senator Saxby Chambliss first ran against and defeated Max Cleland, he ran some incendiary ads that drew the ire of John McCain, who said:

"I'd never seen anything like that ad. Putting pictures of Saddam Hussein and Osama bin Laden next to the picture of a man who left three limbs on the battlefield -- it's worse than disgraceful. It's reprehensible."

We also know that as recently as the 2008 campaign, Keeper Of The McCain Hagiography Mark Salter was arguing in favor of McCain, saying stuff like:

"We're talking about someone who was willing to die before losing his honor! He would die!"

Since McCain is now officially stumping for Saxby Chambliss in the Georgia Senate race run-off, I am forced to conclude that the honorable Senator has become a member of the undead horde of zombies. Good luck, Georgia!

John McCain is "honorable" when it suits him.

If I here one more person refer to him as honorable I think my head might explode.

Why would anyone in their right mind want McCain to come campaign for him right now?

It would be as if McCain had asked Bush to campaign for him.

McCain has no base,so what is the benefit of having him on the trail? Sarah Palin would have been better, she has more enemies but atleast does have some friends in the racists and bigots of the south.

Why would someone want McCain? Let's say you're a Republican incumbent Senator in a run-off election. Let's say that election is in Georgia, a state where McCain beat Obama by a 5+ point margin. . .

All of you are preaching to the choir... I don't like the prospect of a McCain presidency and and didn't vote for him. But to suggest that McCain is worthless political currency EVERYWHERE just because Obama won the national election is a ludicrous assertion. McCain won more of the Georgia vote than Obama did, and unlike Chambliss, actually obtained a majority. Why wouldn't Chambliss enlist his help?
