Obama Staffs Up Web Outreach Crew For Transition

Now this is a good sign: The Obama transition team has just signed up two leading Web types for the transition's Internet outreach team, a welcome indication that the Obama team is moving to transfer its astonishing online successes during the campaign over to the world of governing.

A transition source tells us that that Macon Phillips, a key Obama campaign Web official, has been tapped to head new media for the transition, and Jesse Lee, a leading Web operative who handled Rahm Emanuel's DCCC internet outreach operation during the 2006 take-back of Congress, has been hired to do online communications. Obama's transition team confirms the hires.

Let's not overlook the ultimate reason why President-Elect Obama is doing this: As a counter to mainstream and right wing media outlets who will consistently put out the wrong information and misrepresent the Obama Administration.

By using new technology to communicate with the American people, the Obama Administration will allow Americans to get the information first hand, even before the mainstream media gets the information.

Remember, we knew about Biden before the media. The media had to sign up for the text message to get the information. Obama is not using traditional media outlets because he knows they cannot be trusted to deliver the information. without bias.

Mr. President-Elect Obama is a control freak. I like it. Hold on to your hats folks, this is going to be a fun and sometimes bumpy ride. We'll be a better country 4 years from now. Yes We Will.

I voted for Obama. I trust his judgement and his character. I'm actually willing to wait until he has been inaugurated President before I make any calls on his decisions. But then again, the ones who criticize and the guy isn't even President yet, well, we know that's just based on fear, isn't it...

This will potentially be a uniquely singular tool to enlighten and contemporaneously redefine past this country's historic corruption of it's government through to it's true definition as the Constitution has both long defined and awaited it's arrival these many years, with so much bated breath.
