In an interview with CNN's Wolf Blitzer, Sarah Palin says she's ready to work with President Barack Obama -- but she just can't let Bill Ayers go. From the transcript:

PALIN: It would be my honor to assist and support our new president and the new administration, yes. And I speak for other Republicans, other Republican governors also, they being willing also to, again, seize this opportunity that we have to progress this nation together, a united front.

BLITZER: Because, you know, during a campaign, every presidential campaign, things are said, it's tough, as you well know, it gets sometimes pretty fierce out there. And during the campaign, you said this, you said: "This is not a man who sees America as you see it and how I see America."

And then you went on to say: "Someone who sees America, it seems, as being so imperfect that he is palling around with terrorists who would target their own country."

PALIN: Well, I still am concerned about that association with Bill Ayers. And if anybody still wants to talk about it, I will, because this is an unrepentant domestic terrorist who had campaigned to blow up, to destroy our Pentagon and our U.S. Capitol. That's an association that still bothers me.

And I think it's still fair to talk about it. However the campaign is over. That chapter is closed. Now is the time to move on and to, again, make sure that all of us are doing all that we can to progress this nation.

Keep us secure, get the economy back on the right track, and many of us do have some ideas on how to do that and hopefully we'll be able to put all of that wisdom and experience to good use together.

BLITZER: So looking back, you don't regret that tough language during the campaign?

PALIN: No, and I do not think that it is off-base nor mean-spirited, nor negative campaigning to call someone out on their associations and on their record. And that's why I did it.

BLITZER: I just want to sort of footnote, was that your idea or did somebody write those lines for you?

PALIN: It was a collaborative effort there in deciding how do we start bringing up some of the associations that perhaps would be impacting on an administration, on the future of America. But again, though, Wolf, knowing that it really -- at this point, I don't want to point fingers backwards and play the blame game, certainly, on anything that took place in terms of strategy or messaging in the campaign.

Now is the time to move forward together, start progressing America.

This woman never met a camera she didn't like. And the cameras are similarly enamored of her. So, unfortunately, she will not go away quietly like other loser VP picks- Geraldine Ferraro, Jack Kemp, Dan Quayle, etc. She is so self-centered that she will bring down the whole GOP with her again in 2012, just like she just did in 2008.

She has a strong, loyal following among right wing evangelicals, which make up a majority of the GOP, but she strong negatives among the general population- 60%. So, she is the perfect loser candidate for the GOP to put up in 2012. She will tear the party apart in the primaries with her trashy negative attacks, leaving whoever the GOP nominates in tatters for the general election.

Sarah + Joe the Plumber in 2012!

Not to mention Obama giving Sarah Palin a job would be like putting an Al-Queda operative in the Department of Homeland Security!

OMG, she has GOT to be kidding! Is she bi-polar? One minute she's still bringing up William Ayers and the next she's telling Larry King how "proud" she is of Obama and how she'd LOVE to help him any way she can. (gunning for a job, maybe???) Not to mention hinting about an Inaugural invitation.............she is seriously delusional..........
I'm so glad Obama's too intelligent to fall for any of this crap.......
The thought of having a Democrat in the White House again is like snuggling under a warm blanket on a cold night.......for the first time in almost a decade, I feel at peace again......

As Mike Murphy said this morning on Morning Joe: a little Sarah Palin goes a long way. She needs to get off the tube, go back to Alaska and govern well if she has any hope of being a national player. Right now, she is a celebrity like Tonya Harding - a fascinating disaster.

Sarah didn't even know what the hell the Weather Underground was, before 2008! Give me a break--her enemies, the "bad guys", are those who are revealed to her as such! She's hard-pressed, in fact, to say exactly who our friends are.

And , did you pick up on Palin's "no present button here"....She is so mean spirited that to keep her in the national spotlight is like continuing an e mail virus.

I'm sure most of you know this but is worth repeating. ThinkProgress.org quotes the The London Telegraph saying http://thinkprogress.org/2008/09/15/the-palin-project//):
--------------
Sources in the McCain camp, the Republican Party and Washington think tanks say Mrs Palin was identified as a potential future leader of the neoconservative cause in June 2007. That was when the annual summer cruise organised by the right-of-centre Weekly Standard magazine docked in Juneau, the Alaskan state capital, and the pundits on board took tea with Governor Palin. […]

A former Republican White House official, who now works at the American Enterprise Institute, a bastion of Washington neoconservatism, admitted: “She’s bright and she’s a blank page. She’s going places and it’s worth going there with her.” Asked if he sees her as a “project”, the former official said: “Your word, not mine, but I wouldn’t disagree with the sentiment.”
----------------
So there you have it - Palin is a "blank page" being run by neocons. They just didn't realize how blank the page really is!

Attractive? No...don't think so. Palin is an insult to all who have common sense which does not include many in either party! As an Independent, I was not to excited about McCains VP pick but was willing to wait and see. Once she started speaking I knew she was a mess! People politely say "she's smart" but I have not been convinced. I think she may have some street smarts but when you base all your thoughts and decesions on what "God wants" then you are in trouble. God has given all of us the ability to make choices and determine what is right and what is wrong. She only thinks in terms of what Sarah wants, and that's why I did not vote for the R ticket. I hope the RNC try's to build around her, because if so they will be in trouble with us Independents!

She is an insult to every woman who has ever been sexually assaulted - Palin forced women in Wasilla to pay for their own rape kits.

She, as a woman in power, told other women: "I am going to make you pay twice for this crime against you, because you must have been asking for it."

That has got to be one of the biggest insults from one woman to another.

But I guess all conservative women feel this way?

No, just the ones that hate other women.

Like Palin. And you.

I am a woman and I am embarrassed that Sarah Palin is on the national stage. Apparently, so were the majority of women in this country (that President-Elect Obama carried in the election). We can't support a candidate simply because she is a woman. That candidate also has to have intellectual curiosity, integrity, and a knowledge base that would render her capable of leading the country through difficult times. Gov. Palin exhibited none of these qualities. Some of her comments are virtually unintelligible. If she would do any serious research on the Ayers issue, she would find what any person with an open mind has found - there is nothing substantive there. Obama and Ayers had no close relationship. If Obama's level of relationship was suspect, then so was the relationships with many prominent republicans who also served on that board. I'd like someone to ask Gov. Palin: So, are you saying Mrs. Annenberg (the foundation sponsor who put Ayers on the board) is "palling around with terrorists?" If yes, "is the McCain/Palin campaign suspect for accepting a donation from Mrs. Annenberg?" Why or why not? If Gov. Palin wants to play in the big leagues, then she, like any male candidate has to be able to defend her ideas. Anything else is reverse sexism.
