Barack Obama's longtime barber is hoping to follow his most-famous client to the White House. Zariff, who has been cutting the President-elect's hair for nearly 15 years at the Hyde Park Hair Salon, told CBS 2 that the two talked about it shortly after Obama launched his campaign.

"I said, 'I'm going with you' [if you win]," to which Zariff said Obama replied, "Absolutely. I'm not changing barbers, man."

Prez-elect O has to get his hair cut weekly so it will not look like he just got a hair cut. I get it. $21 plus tip is a fair price.

I see a lot of comments on Black men not wanting to change barbers and it is too true!! It starts young my wife tried to take my six year old son to a different barber out of convenience and he freaked! As his father I fully understood and told him it would never happen again! LOL!! (true story)

Simple, move to Washington DC and rent a shop in the area. You will make it, his already attachment to the Obamas will bring him more clients and if the President needs a haircut, all you need to do is to stop by the whitehouse and give him a haircut within the Whitehouse, I bet you you will meet alot of new high profile clients.

If the barber cannot afford it, I can put a business case together and you will get fundings and sponsorship.

I read somewhere that O gets his hair cut weekly. Most of the men I know get their hair cut every 3-4 weeks. He spends more on his hair than I do and I color and cut.

If O only got his hair cut every 3 to 4 weeks, he would have a mini afro. And those clean lines he always has would not be there. He would look like, well like he needs a haircut. His hair looks to be about the same texture as my son's hair. A good cut only lasts about 5 days. I'm guessing here but, you're probably not black.

You're right. I'm not black. I was just surprised that his hair grew that fast. I think he would look cute with a mini afro though. Those pics of him at Harvard are fierce. I also think he would look great with a little facial hair, maybe a stache and goatee. A girl can dream.

Men are particular about who touches their hair so, after 15 years he will probably go with Mr. President

hmmm, most men I know don't care as long as the person can hold a pair of scissors or shaver. My husbands hair always looks nice, but I bet he couldn't pick his stylist out of a lineup.

We need some light-hearted features. I hope Zariff makes it to the White House.

I concur with everyone who said a good stylist/barber is hard to find. As African Americans, we are particular about our hair and who styles it. President Obama has been going to him for 15 years, that says something ....

I know this is silly stuff to talk about but oh well ...something differnt and fun...for those complaining (there are plenty of other issues you can discuss on huffpo)

O and his hair looked great on election night...I hope he keeps it up ;-)

He's ELECTED already.

No-one gonna impeach him for growing a half-inch afro?!

Let's face it - in a few years he'll be left with those tufty bits along the sides and then he will need a SHORT hairstyle.

A beard would also be cool. When was the last bearded President?

He could fix himself up like Lincoln, for the inauguration!

Meanwhile, in the real world, the bailout....

He should set up shop on Wisconsin Ave next to OKYO, I am sure the owner Bernard P. will be happy to show him the DC ropes, don't know if Larry K. who lives in this other side of the river building still drops in every morning for the day's perm, but... just say JP referred him.

I think Obama and the Barber was just sayin that. He's not going unless there really is a position but how often will he have to work, once per week? I'm sure there are plenty good Barbers in DC who could cut his hair.

I have often wondered who his barber was. My brother is a "mobile" barber who cuts many professional athletes and high power execs. Nice to see the guy. More power to him.

That sounded very sincere DRAYNTX, after mentioning your brother and his high profile cleints you still have often (no less) wondered about who President Elect Barack.Obama's barber was ......yes very sincere.

you can tell alot about a man by his shoes and his hair.

I think he should go with Obama and be paid by the government only if there is already a position in place. (I;s sure there is; I don't see the POTUS schlepping it down to Supercuts.) If there is not already a position for an in-house barber, I think Obama should pay his salary out of his own pocket. That seems more than fair to everybody.
