Michael Moore To Tackle Economy

When Paramount Vantage and Overture announced Michael Moore's long-gestating follow-up to "Fahrenheit 9/11" in May, executives stressed the film's foreign-policy scope. "This is going to tackle what's going on in the world and America's place in it," Paramount Vantage chief Nick Meyer said.

But as the political winds shifted in the months before the election -- and gusted after it -- Moore subtly began reorienting his movie. Instead of foreign policy, the film's focus now is more on the global financial crisis and the U.S. economy.

The untitled movie will contain an end-of-the-empire tone, say those familiar with the project, and Moore no doubt hopes that this will give it a more general feel that will untether it from a specific political moment.

Michael needs to do a film about losing weight.

Seriously, he's always been big, but now he's massive. It can't be healthy.

He doesn't look healthy, that's for sure. But if I felt the kind of pressure that he's felt over the last 10 years, with the work he's done facing the wrath of those he's exposed, I'd eat, too! Imagine the pressure everytime he goes to start his car, or sees someone walking toward him at a fast pace? Michael is so under-appreciated in this country.

Caught a glimpse of FF Coppola lately? Put down the grappa. I respect Moore. His size is his deal.

Well, we know he "tackled" McDonald's.

Almost all our problems, domestic and foreign, stem from unchecked moneychangers and corrupt bankers who play private monopoly with the public trust which in turn results in the buying and selling of America by special interests. If Moore doesn't stray off topic and remains vigilant in identifying the true culprits regardless of politics, background or motive, then this might stand to be his best movie ever.

Mr. Moore may be a little hard on the eyes but he is a brilliant filmmaker and that's what counts. Whether you agree with his politics or not, every citizen of this country owes him a debt of gratitude for having the guts to point out many of the serious flaws and dangers that confront our society and our nation. I deeply admire his past body of work and always look forward to seeing his latest work.

I feel like Sarah Palin ( GOD HELP ME ) when I say that the writer of this piece is a member of the journo elites. MM's film will not be an anachronism if he addresses the most vulnerable and exluded from Americas economy. These folks would be the elderly, the disabled who in many cases want to work but America will not employ ( don't let the prevelance of MR bag people at the end of the check out lane @ the grocery fool you - they are hired only because they work for min wage ) Americas children ( the % of them who live in extreme poverty is frightening ) and the large invisible population of those who are single - trying to survive in a jobless economy facing housing costs usually equal to 70% or more of their pay. Healthcare costs ? ( how could I forget those trying to pay behemoth medical bills ? )The people who receive "Cigar Monthly " have had a good run. The problems of those referenced above will take a decade or more to recover. *IF* at all. Mikeys piece will be topical for all of us -- especially those people for whom he so beautifully advocates. who would otherwise be invisible .

PAULSON TRIES TRICKLE DOWN BAILOUTS! - It is ALSO NOT WORKING!

He switched Bush"s TRICKLE DOWN ECONOMICS to PAULSON TRICKLE DOWN BAILOUTS (TDBO)!

His first TDBO Theory is GIVING $250 BILLION to BANKS would help BAILOUT Homeowners. Instead they used it FOR THEIR MERGERS to FORM SUPER BANKS!

Almost NO Homeowners were HELPED!

His NEW TDBO Theory is GIVING $250 BILLION MORE to BANKS to BAILOUT BAD CREDIT CARD DEBT will help PEOPLE FREE UP CREDIT CARD DEBTS! It will again be used to MAKE SUPER BANKS into MONSTER BANKS!

No help to People in 18% to 25% Credit Card DEBT!

In Short TRICKLE DOWN of any type WILL NOT WORK!

PAULSON has not met the intent of the Bailout and MUST BE REMOVED ALONG WITH HIS STAFF and a new team installed!

Congress needs to put "BOTH FEET" on the ACCELERATOR to catch up with this CRISIS!

Apply the last $400 Billion to Homeowner REFI's Using Fannie and Freddie for automated Loans, for AUTO Bailouts, and to Refi Credit Card Debits at lower rates! All this WILL FLOW DIRECTLY (NOT TRICKLE) UP to the benefits of the BANKS!

For a Auto Company to get help require:

1. Reduce all White Collar Salaries by 30%
2. Reduce Union Worker pay by 15%
3. Replace Management with those having Detailed Knowledge of Hybrid Technology!

I've seen all of Mike's films but 'Sicko' and I'm generally down with his stuff I guess.

But Errol Morris is vastly more talented and fair, and gets deeper into the human condition. His films are about the people in front of the camera, not him.

Yo, what makes America good, and Democracy work is that they are trouble shooters, not avoiders, basking in some lazy sense of "exceptionalism".

Did you know he owned stock in Halliburton? Seems to me that he vilified that company in one of his movies. Hypocrite?

Michael personifies the epitome of patriotism. He is a True American Hero who tells it like it is with his work and his life. Thus, naturally, he is demonized by those he exposes with their lies and corruption.
