Rachel In Pjs

Last night, on her eponymous show on MSNBC, Rachel Maddow took up the cause for a nation of bloggers who are tired of being stereotyped in the sad, stupid, and tired way that Alaska Governor Sarah Palin did whilst shooting her moosemeat infomercial with Fox's Greta Van Susteren: "...sitting there in their parent's basement wearing their pajamas." Le sigh! Suffice it to say, I know bloggers who have written books, bloggers who wear body armor in war zones, bloggers who are immersed in scholarship, and bloggers who can take their experience of driving a taxicab and turn it into a transporting read. I also know a bunch of bloggers who can cook WAY BETTER than Sarah Palin! But more to the point: what the heck is wrong with wearing pajamas? Especially footie pajamas! Especially footie pajamas that you buy yourself, with your own money, instead of the RNC's! This is Rachel Maddow's cause.

[WATCH.]

MADDOW: If your TV machine works, you know that in the past few days, Governor Sarah Palin has been consuming TV time like it was oxygen and she's halfway up Mount Everest. Ironically, the media is also her biggest target. Here's what she told Greta Van Susteren.

PALIN: Early on, there are a tremendous number of examples we can give about my record and things that could have, should have so easily been corrected if the media would take it one step further and investigate it a little bit and not just gone on some blogger -- probably sitting there in their parent's basement wearing their pajamas blogging some kind of gossip or a lie.

MADDOW: You know, what is this myth about being able to tell the real media from the bloggers because the media is in suits and the bloggers are in pajamas. Where did that come from, anyway.

Keith and Rachel, the best one-two punch since Jordan and Pippen, Shaq and Kobe, Brady and Moss
Hey, now I hear you muttering about poor old Shaq, but don't look now: guess who has voiced a desire to return to the Lakers?.
And, Miss Nina, thank-you! Yet I can totally understand the Fargo misunderstanding because of the Duh-Ko-dah accent, doncha know?

What about those of us who use HP & other sites while wearing our under wear? This could be a case of elitist criticism by Gov Palin. I must close to get dressed.

Perhaps when Obama and Clinton blogged on here, they were wearing their pajamas.

The Governor of Alaska (a.k.a. Wasilla hillbilly in some quarters of the McCain camp) should mind her manners. This blogger knows more about this country and the world than the entire Palin family combined! (Oh...I wear a suit as well as pajamas depending on the time of the day!). Soon the US Patent and Trademark Office will have to patent Governor Palin's ignorance as it is uniquely singular!

So, SP suddenly considers herself an expert. This from a woman who believed Africa to be a country (did Muthee never explain that to her?).

Rachel Maddow could whip SP back to the Stone Age. That would actually be better for SP: there she could be amongst her peers.

Thank you, Rachel, for making the point...that I can think in my pajamas.

And this pajama blogger has a question for Palin...I am curious like the monkeys on my pajamas…as Governor, what processes or steps do you follow when deciding whether or not to scratch items as pork from the state budget, i.e., kitchen appliances for a senior center or a dropout prevention program, like the ones scratched from Alaska's 2008 budget?

Proud pajamas blogger...

Naked, cross-dressed, or in a clown suit, most of us are able to express ourselves far better than this Frances McDormand wanna be in stolen Nieman Marcus suits.

You owe Frances McDormand an apology!! Seriously though, Rachel Maddow is the best. I love the good natured way she shreds ignorant stupidity.

not sure, but i think she is talking about the character Frances McDormand plays in "Burn After Reading" in which she attempts to get her employer (a Gym) to pay for plastic surgery nips & tucks because she feels it's a job related neccesity.

It is sacrilegious to put Frances McDormand in the same sentence as SP. Even putting Marge Gunderson (Fargo police chief) in the vicinity of SP is offensive. Marge was not speedy, but she was smart. SP is not smart, she's crafty and ignorant.

"Not only do we have a right to know, we have a duty to know what our Government is doing in our name. If there's a criticism to be made today, it's that the press isn't doing enough to put the pressure on the government to provide information."

Ok, you go girl! Now we must insist that all of the Palin Clothes be forwarded to a non-political centerists TV Commentator! As the fairness doctrines states: Any of the defeated politican"s stuff, must be shared with everyone smart enough to steal it!

So, if Rachel doesn't get them, then we must insist that the Obama administration enter Rachel's name in one of the "Clothing Bail-Out" packages. Otherwise, she'll be forced to be on that "Fashionista" make-over TV show with that guy designer and the other lady! Gawd, SAVE US !

dr maddow is the shizznit!!!!!!! her and keith, make me do all of my chores, like folding clothes. for two hours daily, i get to sit and fold clothes, uninterupted. my family stays away from me, for fear of me asking them to help me put the clothes away. but what they dont know is that the clothes have been in the basket for months, they are things i intend to give away. *wink, wink* however like clockwork, i pull that basket out of its hiding place, when keith is coming on. and for two full hours i get entertained!!! in peace!!!!! thank you MSNBC.
