"Pregnant Man" Expecting Second Child (VIDEO)

Thomas Beatie, the controversial "pregnant man" who gave birth to a daughter earlier this year, reveals to Barbara Walters in an exclusive interview that he is pregnant again with his second child.

Thomas Beatie, a transgender, welcomed a baby girl, Susan, June 29. Since sharing the story of Susan's birth with ABC News, he and his wife, Nancy Beatie, hadn't spoken to the media until they sat down last month with Walters.

Thomas Beatie, who is in his first trimester, tells Walters he did not go back on the male hormone testosterone after Susan's birth so he could have another baby.

I just asked my husband if he ever wanted to have a baby. He didn't even understand the question, but said an emphatci 'No'.

This person wants to be a 'man', I don't know how it feels and don't want have any say in his/her life, but do I have to be informed of this ?

This really isn't a story. When a man with man parts inside and out delivers a baby - then that will be a story. This is a woman having, with woman parts, having a baby. It happens every minute of every day.

There are people out there who have intersex conditions, and the sex chromosomes can be in different combinations.... I have a cousin who is a man, and he is xxxy... he has Klinfelters disorder.... please don't lump transgender people and intersexed people together. Good luck to them. It is their life, but I think they should have kept it under wraps for the sake of the baby.

There are all kinds of natural variations on the XX/ YX chromosomes and the individuals with these variations can either feel feminine or masculine or sometimes one and sometimes the other but there has never been a pregnant man. I can only wonder what effect that playing around with all these hormones will have on the physical/mental health of the kids. Many transgendered people wind-up getting cancer, which I suppose is OK if you signed-up for the sex change with the full knowledge that it was a good possibility. Why not try to adopt children as so many same sex couples do? It seems more like a tremendous ego trip to me that this he/she has to have biological kids.

If a woman who has NOT gone through the first steps of being trans-gender wants to give birth to a child it's o.k., but this guy is not allowed that chance? Who are we to judge? Show me the book of rules on this. Don't bother saying the Bible, because it's not in there.

When this show appeared on Oprah, I was befuddled that this is news when this is a man by his definition, but not a born male . I don't get this at all. If you have internal organs of what you were born with, why is this extraordinary,,,it's a woman who physically altered her persona and perhaps spirit but nonetheless a woman still, giving birth, why are we parsing over this? If a man who becomes a woman gets pregnant, that is a story to behold! I would be in line for that one, knocking up my husband oh yah!

Serious transgenders live as one sex. I haven't seen one yet who wants to live as a man but keep their reproductive organs. Something is not right about this woman's psychological make up. She's considered a female until she decides what she wants to be. You can't be both.

Children deserve parents who know who and what they are. If this lady wants to be a man, fine. Make the change and do it. This chameleon stuff will cause confusion and stress on the kids, and the drive for attention makes it all that much more of a circus.

It would appear that this has little to do with love for a child and everything to do with ME, ME, ME, ME. WHAT I WANT. LOOK AT ME! That's not a good recipe for healthy parenting.

Seems like intellectual relativism to me. Does biology not count for anything? Whether this person chooses to call herself a "man" is up to her. But the cells still have XX chromosomes in their nuclei.

If they can provide a loving environment for the children, by all means go ahead. But don't confuse the issue by telling the child that her "father" gave birth to her.

The father is in fact whoever made the spe.rm donation or had interc.ourse with this (wo)man.

Seriously - why is this such a big story? Why should we care?
Great, a person with female reproductive parts got pregnant and carried a baby to term and is doing it again.... OK... what's the big deal? It's called IVF.
This has to do with my life how? I mean it's interesting and all but BW being floored that they were having another baby... why?
I am happy for them. Can we please move on now please? If only Prop 8 got this much attention, there wouldn't be the need for all these demonstrations.... who knows it might not have passed!
