"Pregnant Man" Expecting Second Child (VIDEO)

Thomas Beatie, the controversial "pregnant man" who gave birth to a daughter earlier this year, reveals to Barbara Walters in an exclusive interview that he is pregnant again with his second child.

Thomas Beatie, a transgender, welcomed a baby girl, Susan, June 29. Since sharing the story of Susan's birth with ABC News, he and his wife, Nancy Beatie, hadn't spoken to the media until they sat down last month with Walters.

Thomas Beatie, who is in his first trimester, tells Walters he did not go back on the male hormone testosterone after Susan's birth so he could have another baby.

I heard Barbara Walters announce this on the View this am. She is interviewing this family and showing it Friday??? I think?? ... this is so cr.ee.py . She talked about it like it was something wonderful and beautiful. Frankly its really not what I want to watch. The best to the family. I hope they can deal with the notoriety.

I know lots of hairy women that can grow a mustache. So? This whole strange stunt is a slap in the face to real trans people because a man, by definition, does not get pregnant and give birth. A trans person lives as the gender they intend to be -- that means a woman transitioning to a man would not have sex using her vagina... or give birth. What this person is doing is just being a freak show for the promotion.

I tend to agree with you. Frankly. I am afraid this person has a genuine identity crisis. The transgenders I have talkd to want nothing whatsoever to be even reminded of their former selves. They are absolutely sure what gender they are.

Throughout human/animal history sexuality does not present itself as a homogeneous behavior. Babies respond to touch as sexual beings. They don't think about what is acceptable behavior, they just react to human touch and sometimes react to the touch with sexual arousal. It is not until later on that they learn to differentiate by cultural awareness what are acceptable responses. I like to use the analogy of hetero-homo behavior as two sides of the same coin when discussing the most common sexual behavior. It is wise to remember the coin also has thickness and volume. The coin is what matters but some societies tell us that only heterosexuality is the norm by nature. Another analogy is as if sexuality was a spectrum of color. It is time to realize all our humanity regardless how we “choose” to live are incorporated in this spectrum. Like the light spectrum we tend to focus on one or two colors and not on the whole range of colors. Some decided one color is the right and only color. The story here proves is not that easy to make such claim. This is another example of a different color in the sexuality spectrum. I find all of these expressions of our humanity fascinating.

That was a fascinating, but lengthy explanation about characteristics not so much about biology. Of course we all have gradations of male and female characteristics, but the bottom line is, Thomas was born a women, had the first stages of a sex change, but left the female reproductive system intact. It's no mystery.

Hey, I am all for gay and transgender rights.

I am also ALL FOR not having to hear about every pregnancy of a semi-transgender woman. She could incubate a hundred children, and she is still not biologically a man. Enough.
