Palin

Sarah Palin said today that she doesn't want to comment on the strategy behind the McCain/Palin campaign now that it's over, which is too bad, because that's basically the only thing (besides her aspirations for 2012, and snow machines) that anyone wants to talk to her about. BUT! That doesn't mean she's ready to give up on the stock stump speech she gave over and over again on the trail, though, apparently to the utter bafflement of reporters who are, by now, really bored to tears with the travails of Tito The Builder.

Jonathan Capehart told MSNBC's David Shuster, "I watched her entire speech, and I had to remind myself that the election was a week ago, and this was not a McCain/Palin rally." Is that crazy white-haired lady who thought Obama was "an Arab" a Republican Governor? Probably! "Everything you heard at a McCain/Palin rally since she was selected as the Vice Presidential nominee since September, and even down to the same rhetoric was in that speech," said Capehart.

Jonathan Martin added that Palin's speech was "perplexing" and "jarring," which are the two nicest things ever said about a Palin speech. He added that he wasn't "sure if she wanted to, you know, re-litigate the past campaign or look forward and diagnose where the party should go from here. And it was sort of a little bit of both, but also neither."

Capehart added, "She needs to stop." And, according to David Shuster, 52% of people polled agree that it's time for Sarah Palin to go home. By contrast, 45% say they can't get enough of her. Funny how those numbers seem to correspond with another large accounting of the American electorate that was recently taken!

No one says it better than Dick Cavett,,, He calls her "The Wild Wordsmith of Wassila". You'll love what he says...

Everything that Sarah knows...Sarah put into that speach. She has no more information. How can you expect something different if she has already told you all she knows?

In her speech Palin used the phrase "suffice it to say." That phrase has always annoyed me. I searched to find some information about it and came across this variation in the Urban Dictionary...

...2. suffice to say 8 up, 121 down
I term that has no meaning. Usually used by low IQ individuals to make them feel and sound more intelligent than what they are. Used by individuals that have problems communicating in a short manner.
3. suffice to say 12 up, 127 down
A phrase that is commonly used when a person has an IQ of, or less than, a tape dispenser and wants to sound smarter than he/she actually is...

Frank Zappa had a song in 1988 called "Any Kind of Pain" (on the Broadway the Hard Way album)....and it fits Sarah Palin perfectly!

Will Sarah Palin ever be president? Not if history can be used as a guide.

Only one failed vice presidential nominee has ever become president, and that was FDR. But, he had “slightly” different credentials. Roosevelt had degrees from Harvard and Columbia Law School. He had been a member of the New York Legislature, Asst. Secretary of the Navy and the Governor of New York. It would appear that:Palin is no FDR.

And how about education? Well, those who were elected president, who didn’t have Ivy League degrees, and Palin does not, had degrees from one of the prestigious military academies or had graduated from law school from a highly ranked university or had been governor of California, which if it were a country, would be a good sized country.

So, if Palin sees herself as matching up to the qualifications of Ronald Reagan—she might want to think again.. To become governor of Alaska, Palin received less than 115,000 votes. Ronald Reagan received 3.7 million votes when he became governor of California in 1966.

So, using history as her guide, to be elected President of the United States, Sarah Palin best become the governor of California or New York, or get a degree from Harvard, or both.

Or, does history show she could become Vice President and then ascend to the Presidency? Well, it looks like she just had her shot at that. No failed Vice Presidential candidate has ever been asked to take that spot again.

You overlook the fact that the American I.Q. has dropped 60 points since FDR.

She is going to be a US Senator here pretty soon, I guess this throws a monkey wrecnch in your theory....hahahaha

The monkey would do a better job and it's cuter too

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 11:42 AM on 11/16/2008

I sure hope the above theory is correct. At least it's more thought provoking than peggy's commenet. And... with any luck the people of Alaska will NOT elect a convicted felon. I can't believe it is even close! But, if he should loose, Sarah will be able to exercise her executive authority to appoint herself as Senator. And wouldn't that be what the country needs in this time of crisis... a cheerleader, with no clue of what's going on (unless a speech writer helps her memorize some facts) will be helping decide the fate of the nation... Heaven help us all.

Hope she fly's home to Alaska and stays there. What kind of a bunch of " Sheep" are running the GOP Governors Conferance. They let this low intelligence person degrade the whole group of them. Come on people wake up this is the women who took a phone call from a fake President of France a week of so ago and carried on a conversation like the "Twit" that she is. Now I know there is a whole bunch of in denial folks that would like to blame the main stream media for this, but they had nothing to do will the "Prank" call at all. Please listen to the radio conversation and there after remove your head from your rear end. I am Independent , not anti Republician and I am sure most serious people would not want their leaders believing her silly views on hardly any matters.

The electoral vote was 365 to 174... How is that almost beating anyone peggy? I live in Indiana and we have only gone blue in 1968 and 1936... We are all thanking Sarah for her part in changing us from a Red State to a Blue one... I want to go down in history as being on the side of intelligence... I am sure there are democrats in North Carolina, Florida, Colorado, and New Mexico that feel the same way I do... The got to turn blue and cast their votes for change... not more of the same. You really do need to get your facts straight peg.

When you look up sedition in the dictionary, you see her cross-eyed stare. Enough already! Enough of the circumlocutory, run-on, 75 word per sentence speeches that are bridges to nowhere in and of themselves.

Palin ought to do whatever it takes, say whatever is necessary, to diffuse totally any Obama assassination overtures.

I don't want or need to hear about her wardrobe.

It should not be baffling. Palin has just proven what everyone strongly suspected, namely that she has absolutely nothing original to say.
Her charisma is that of a celebrity, not a serious politician.
Her hubris enables otherwise kind folks enjoy watching her make a fool of herself but this fascination will hopefully wear off and she will fade into frozen obscurity where she belongs.
