Sarah Palin Baffles Reporters By Rehashing Stump Speech At RGA Conference

Sarah Palin said today that she doesn't want to comment on the strategy behind the McCain/Palin campaign now that it's over, which is too bad, because that's basically the only thing (besides her aspirations for 2012, and snow machines) that anyone wants to talk to her about. BUT! That doesn't mean she's ready to give up on the stock stump speech she gave over and over again on the trail, though, apparently to the utter bafflement of reporters who are, by now, really bored to tears with the travails of Tito The Builder.

Jonathan Capehart told MSNBC's David Shuster, "I watched her entire speech, and I had to remind myself that the election was a week ago, and this was not a McCain/Palin rally." Is that crazy white-haired lady who thought Obama was "an Arab" a Republican Governor? Probably! "Everything you heard at a McCain/Palin rally since she was selected as the Vice Presidential nominee since September, and even down to the same rhetoric was in that speech," said Capehart.

Jonathan Martin added that Palin's speech was "perplexing" and "jarring," which are the two nicest things ever said about a Palin speech. He added that he wasn't "sure if she wanted to, you know, re-litigate the past campaign or look forward and diagnose where the party should go from here. And it was sort of a little bit of both, but also neither."

Capehart added, "She needs to stop." And, according to David Shuster, 52% of people polled agree that it's time for Sarah Palin to go home. By contrast, 45% say they can't get enough of her. Funny how those numbers seem to correspond with another large accounting of the American electorate that was recently taken!

People like reading about Sarah for the same reason they liked reading about Britney Spears. It is so much fun to read about how someone who seemingly has it made can behave so foolishly. Watching Britney and Sarah makes us feel good about ourselves, by comparison. The kind thing to do would be to ignore her, but as long as her interviews continue to sell advertisements to the public, she will be in the limelight.

Well, she no longer has speech writers -- so now she has to use pieces of the speeches the brilliant writers provided to make her look smart! But if you will notice, she doesn't look as comfortable as she did w/ teleprompters -- she had to look down and it was a bit uncomfortable for her! I loved it!

not only do we know that she doesn't read- she isn't interested in mothering either. i have no problem with working moms- i am a working mom- but her career has taken priority over her family in a very destructive manner- namely a little boy with special needs who needs a mommy that can give him the attention that he needs and deserves. and piper? did you see that little matt lauer bit? piper has on what look to be 2 or 3" heels in that interview in the kitchen- did anyone else notice this? i was deeply disturbed by that- how old is she again? and poor bristol- preaching abstinence worked really well for your daughter, didn't it? you going to try that method with piper too while she's wearing those heels? wow. i feel so sorry for these children who look up to their mother unconditionally and may one day have their entire image of their mother destroyed if they ever come to the realization that she is a fraud.

Well, to me things keep the same from the very onset: I am in the 42% that can't get enough of Gov. Palin because she is pure and simply a sex object. surely enough not because she is a woman but she seems to be my kind of woman. Not to the full extent, of course (she's a bit stocky, for example) and I don't want to go beyond the heavy make up and stuff. But she's such a flirt that I just fell for her insanely. Now, this stem from a lot of years back when I had an adulterous affair with a girl Palin's age minus 25 give and take and I always get a kick out of watching this show woman turned político or viceversa, blunders or no blunders. So, keep her on screen until the pancacke fall off her face. She won't do any harm, it's a low cost entertainment and she has a much better hair than Donald Trump.

You're getting way ahead of the explanation I tried to give for what I think happened to a lot of people who reacted to the Palin phenomenon. At any rate I have no such fantasies about this woman. I just find her attractive enough to keep going a non political yet a fairly widespread media frenzy and public response.

Well, that pretty well sums up her appeal to the male population of our country. It is low cost entertainment but the trouble is that she takes herself seriously and wants to be in a position of power--putting a person of ambition with such low awareness of how ridiculous she is, is dangerous. That's why we must take her seriously and blow her out of the water. My advice is for her to go back to Alaska, take care of her special needs baby, pregnant daughter and finish her term as governor. Surely, had McCain and Sarah been elected, Sarah would have told us all that this was God's will.
