Eat, drink, and be merry -- someone will bail you out.

After the humiliation of haggling over bailouts, there comes the post-bailout party. Staff of supposedly ailing companies are living it up on more than a prayer.

See where and how they celebrated government money and keeping their jobs.

These really are the End Times for America.....not because of some biblical prophecy....because we, as Americans, are selfish, shameless and ultimately clueless, which is why our leaders can pull this bail out crapola and we passively go along with it.

With all that money, they should buy strictly American anything!!! Every cent should be spent on American items. They should be forced to sell anything not made in America. LOL.

Wow. And here I was wondering why the repubes are finding it difficult to get votes.

To all: thank you for your intelligence in having seen this as the fraud it is, and continues to be.
"Financial crisis" my eye! Every time I encounter someone, recently, who's quivering and shivering at the news of the big, bad financial meltdown I just want to slap them into consciousness.
We want our money back, if this is the best they can spend it. Abolish the federal income tax (which, interestingly enough, no one can point out the law requiring it...).

The repubes have a new party song. Steve Miller's, "Take the Money and Run!"

Huffington Post needs to take this article down. It is really innaccurate and full of mistakes. The media continues to mislead people into thinking that these events (especially AIG events) are exec retreats. Please let big business go back to normal and continue their businesses as if the crisis didnt happen. That is a way we can help the economy. Hotels, Restaurants, Resorts, Catering companies, etc etc survive on these events and plus that is how companies make any money- by conducting these events with partners and clients. It is rough on not only the big companies, but the small ones that are stuggling. So please stop reporting on these non-issue stories.

Until people are tried and convicted and have their assets stripped the culture will never change.

Somehow this makes me want to cry. Regular folks are struggling so much yet these "execs" who blundered so badly that they needed to be bailed out continue their high life on somebody else's dime.

And we all know that nobody is going to do anything about it.

Just sad.

Weak, very weak; this should NOT make you want to cry; it should make you angry and want to beat-up on somebody. As long as this is a country of wimps, the b a s t a r d s will take advantage of you, repeatedly and with no stopping, until you either die or develop a spine.

I would like to see these so called executives personal assets seized and frog marched in front of the court of public opinion. They need a touch of reality and humility.

this is a low in so called journalism

it doesnt say what these events were ... were they conferences for top performers? were they preplanned and prepaid? were they for clients?

to put them out in this format is irresponsible and pandering to the hysteria of the uninformed

Whatever they were, whoever is sponsering these events should be held accountable. The fact they these events were allowed to progress demonstrates the dearth that contributed to getting these companies into the situation they are in now. The fact that this management group does not have the judgement to modify what is surely long standing sense of entitlement demonstrates a sense of being at odds with the realities of the current economic client and the perils that those who are paying the bills are facing. As a reminder, that would be us and our children
