E!:

So about those big-name guest stars on 30 Rock...

Last night's episode, featuring Jennifer Aniston, and, as an added bonus for fans of vintage NBC Thursdays, a Night Court cast reunion, was watched by a season-low 7.5 million, Nielsen estimates report.

The show's previous low (8.1 million) came a week ago, when no less than Oprah Winfrey appeared.

Overall, 30 Rock, bolstered more by Tina Fey's rising star than any one guest star, is bigger than ever, averaging 8.1 million through the first three weeks of its season.

Tina Fey discussed this episode on one of the talk shows the other day. Tina said, she looked like she had been cut and pasted into a "Friends" episode with all the pretty people. Her comment seemed odd at the time and after watching 30 Rock this week I still didn't get it. Take a good look at this article's attached photo!.Tina you're dead on!! LOL

I have tried to watch 30 Rock TWICE, and the last time I thought we might substitute this show for waterboarding! None of the characters seem worth knowing, and a lot of the humor is just yech. I adore both Fey and Baldwin, but they don't seem to click on screen, and the character attributes (read neuroses) bore me. Fix the writing, make these characters less 1-dimensional, and move this show. There is NOTHING to watch on either Satruday or Sunday night as far as I'm concerned. And NBC runs drama re-runs on Saturday nights. Try running re-runs (in a 1 hr block) of 30-Rock.

It's more for smart people with taste and a sense of humor. You wouldn't get it. Let it go.

The problem with Aniston's character on 30 rock was the character herself. She played it well, but her character was fracking annoying.

Once again Huffington Post used a very misleading headline (to gather readers) and hid the explanation that ER was on on the same night.
Typical **** for HuffPost.

I've never seen Friends and am unfamiliar with Anniston's acting abilities but I sure got tired of seeing her face at the grocery stand after Pitt left her. Poor Anniston, Brad and Angie are a hard act to follow.

I think the Aniston brand lost its cachet when Brad left and that brand has never recovered its former value.

We look at her and see, I guess subconciously, a loser. We feel bad for her and that's not good for an entertainer.

I think her career may be over in Hollywood, and not just because they see her as a loser. Her biggest problem is she's an actress of very limited range. When you look at her movie roles, almost every single one has been some kind of variation of Rachel Greene. She can't go on playing that indefinitely, and then her age is against her. Whether she likes it or not, Hollywood is very unkind to actresses on the wrong side of 40. All the successful actresses over 40 (Helen Mirren, Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts etc) have the range and the talent to play a wide variety of roles. Aniston, unfortunately, does not have either.

Tina Fey needs to just go back to how she won the Ememy's on 30 Rock and she will do fine !
Go Tina !

Look, people, here's the deal.

If Jennifer Aniston hadn’t married Brad Pitt, she would have faded into obscurity like the rest of the cast of Friends. She knows this.

She keeps the tabloids busy so she won’t fade into obscurity. She is not a good actress on the large screen. She has a limited range of skill. If she stops attaching herself to Brad and Angelina she will have nothing. No career, no recognition, no tabloid coverage. Nothing. And for an actress like her who craves public adoration, that is a fate worse than d eath.

Couldn't the headline also be "Jets/Pats hurt 30 Rock" or "Pigskin may impact Rock"?

I tried to comment this morning. I guess H u f f thought me mundane. I just wanted to note that Jennifer Aniston is a capable actress - certainly not in the Hepburn range - but adequate and given a bad rap due to her alliance with Pitt. She is certainly more 'sparkling' on the screen than that deadpan Jolie. Nuff said.

Hi Happy, I tried to join the party this morning but H U F F was on a censorship streak. I've just come from a rather rocky stint in the hospital where I was prey to the whims and failures of today's medical practice. Ah woe is me.

personally, I like all 3 - Jennifer and Brad and Angelina. They seem like decent people.
I have a great deal of admiration for Angelina's humanitarian work.

The ratings are low because the show doesn't have the same oomph and immediacy as Fey's Palin satires. They need to move it to HBO or Showtime and let them use the four-letter words and occasional nudity (preferably an Alec Baldwin full-frontal) to make it really work.

Btw, Jen Anniston is not star power; chick can barely open a picture.

Agreed ....... except AB full-frontal ..... YUK!

Honestly, I haven't watched Jennifer Aniston in anything since sometime in the 1990s. I can't imagine there's a mass following of her great acting range among the 20-something crowd these days (a 22 year old was born in 1986, shortly before Anison's heyday).

I have tried to watch 30 Rock, but I just don't get it. It seems like a bunch of insecure people being really insecure. I don't see how that is entertaining.

Some will never forgive her because Jen lost Pitt with such grace. No whining at all, despite her few comments when probed by the media.
