Israeli PM Candidate's Website Looks A Lot Like Obama's... (PHOTO)

JERUSALEM -- Click on the Russian-language version of the campaign Web site of Benjamin Netanyahu, the conservative Likud leader running for prime minister of Israel, and up pops a picture of the candidate with Barack Obama. On the Hebrew version, Mr. Obama is not pictured. But he is, in fact, everywhere.

The colors, the fonts, the icons for donating and volunteering, the use of embedded video, and the social networking Facebook-type options -- including Twitter, which hardly exists in Israel -- all reflect a conscious effort by the Netanyahu campaign to learn from the Obama success.

"Imitation is the greatest form of flattery," noted Ron Dermer, one of Mr. Netanyahu's top campaign advisers. "We're all in the same business, so we took a close look at a guy who has been the most successful and tried to learn from him. And while we will not use the word 'change' in the same way in our campaign, we believe Netanyahu is the real candidate of change for Israel."

Well what do you expect when Obama has basically written a master reference edition on what a campaign should do and look? Many will try to imitate his campaign strategy, from branding to management. We have to hand it to the man.

only make one think of all of the damage that will result.

Netanyahu will ditch any peace effort, and pull the US into a war with Iran by attacking it preemptivly,
driving the price of oil up to 500 a barrel, and triggering a depression in the US for NOTHING.

Report: Netanyahu Says 9/11 Has Been Good for Israel

The Israeli newspaper Ma’ariv has reported that Israel’s former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has publicly said the September 11 attacks have been good for Israel. Netanyahu said, “We are benefiting from one thing, and that is the attack on the Twin Towers and Pentagon, and the American struggle in Iraq." Netanyahu then reportedly said that these events “swung American public opinion in our favor.” Netanyahu’s comments came during a conference at Bar Ilan University.

Funny you should mention Lebanon. Bin Laden stated that he created the plot to fly planes into the twin towers after seeing Israeli jets bombing towers full of innocent Lebanese in a attempt to assassinate the Palestinian leadership whom they thought were there.

This was in the midst of bombing the ENTIRE nation into the stone age, which they have done several times now, largely as the result of the predictable outcome of their violently enforced colonial settler movement.

So, Yes, the 40 year plus effort to steal land (outside Israel's rightful internationally recognized borders) has caused more terror against Israel (and the US) than any other single factor.

Israeli ad agencies are known for shamelessly copying others work. I don't think they know the meaning of "inspiration". And unfortunately, he will probably win regardless. The majority of the Israeli society is very chauvinistic, both towards women and anything not Jewish.
