In a somewhat predictable move, Joe The Plumber, aka Samuel Wurzelbacher, has signed a book deal. Joe told Fox News that he was "broke," but still took time in considering his publishing house because he wanted to spread the wealth around.

"Everyone came at me to write a book. They had dollar signs in their eyes. '101 Things Joe the Plumber Knows' or some stupid s--- like that. Excuse me, I am sorry," he said. "You know I will get behind something solid, but I won't get behind fluff. I won't cash in, and when people do read the book they will figure out that I didn't cash in. At least I hope they figure that out."

The book, called "Joe the Plumber -- Fighting for the American Dream," is to be released by a group called PearlGate Publishing and other small publishing houses.

"I am not going to a conglomerate that way we actually can get the economy jump started. Like there is five publishing companies in Michigan. There's a couple down in Texas. They are small ones that can handle like 10 or 15,000 copies. I can go to a big one that could handle a million or two. But they don't need the help. They are already rich. So that's spreading the wealth to me," he said.

CJR has reported several new details on the book today. Titled "Joe the Plumber: Fighting for the American Dream," it's slated to be released on December 1st of this year and will be co-written with a novelist named Thomas Tabback.

He's still deciding what color crayon he should use to write it.

You'er broke Joe? How were you going to supposedly buy the company you work for if you're broke? Hmmm. . . could it be that you're a lying piece of crap and a republican plant?

Let me tell you something "Joe". While you're "writing" your book, you might want to remember the reason that you're broke is that the republican economic ideologies of trickle-down-economics and radical free market de-regulation are both utter failures and have crippled our economy.

These failed republican ideologies have allowed CEO compensation to skyrocket while working stiffs like you and me have paid their billion dollar salaries. But, hey, a lot of people bought your BS, and will probably buy your "book" as well. Please, Joe, just fade back into obscurity with Sarah the Prostitute or whatever her little pet name was. Americans already understand what "Fighting for the American Dream" means. We don't need a pseudo-famous, lying, politician's puppet like you to stand up on your soap box for your last 2 minutes of fame and pretend you know better than us.

But, hey, I guess ignorant people like yourself - people that vote against their own best interests - need someone to relate to, so maybe your "book" will act as a sort of security blanket or night light to those of your ilk while you cry yourselves to sleep at night because your ideologies suffered such a resounding defeat on Nov 4th.

note: his "co-writer" is a novelist. Should be some fun fantasy - maybe even science fiction.

oh to have 15 minutes of fame - especially in this down economy. why couldn't that have been me. I am in "construction"

For your information: Joe the plumber is becoming wealthy from President-elect Obama walking around his neighborhood.

I think Obama should get part of the wealth Joe is about to get.

I can see this guy becoming a professional wrestler - after his book flops and he needs more dough.

I can also see him as a bouncer. He looks like a big angry thug just itching to punch something.

hmmm. bill ayres's 8-year-old manifesto gets a quickie pb reprint only a week after the election. joe the plumber gets a quickie book deal of his own around the same time.

which book will sell more copies? which will be reviewed in the NYT sunday book section?

how many regulars on this site will be buying joe the plumber's book?

how many here will be buying ayres's manifesto?

I don't believe either will sell well. Both of their 15 minutes of fame are just seconds away from being over.

What's next, he'll change his last name to "ThePlumber"? Really can't blame Joe for wanting his piece of the "pipe" but exactly why McCain picked him as the iconic American working stiff is beyond me. In my book, "ThePlunger's" selection just proves McCain has no clue about the average American worker, no matter what he says.

I think he was a plant at the Obama rally too ... has anyone investigated his Alaska connection? He used to live there; oh come to think of it who cares ..... we know more than we want to know already .... but any investigators wanting to make a name for themselves should be heading to Alaska to investigate Palin ... still lots of questions about HER and she needs to be stopped and for good! There are too many people who still support her ....... 2012 will soon be here.

Who is going to buy this book. Something tells me that we've hit minute 17 on his 15 minutes of fame.

Nobody in their right mind should want the book but the publisher is expecting brisk sales among Republican true believers... Go figure.

What do you know? Sam Wurzelbacher might have to pay more taxes after all!

But do you think he's complaining?

This is the very height (or should I say depth) of idiocy.
What did JtP ever do except ask Obama a question?
Do we really want to extend his 15 minutes?
Anyone who buys this book will get exactly what they pay for:
a big gust of idiot-wind.

Only if you first spend a month or two as a sock-puppet for the McCain campaign. Of course, that means you would have to sell every scrap of dignity you've ever had, and then lie about how much you make, and lie about plans to buy a company, and then admit that Obama's tax plan is actually much better for you personally (thus further demeaning yourself in the eyes of every intelligent person in America). Oh, and you'd have to be willing to take on an ironic nickname, such as someone without a plumber's license being called, "Joe the Plumber".

IF you do all that, you'll have publishers crawling out of the woodwork to publish your book. If, on the other hand, you'd rather keep your dignity and preserve your integrity, you'll have to find another route to a book deal.

Seriously though, I'm sorry to hear you lost your parts store. What's particularly frightening is that the economics that "Joe the Plumber" was defending have brought about our economic crisis, and will cause many, many more businesses to fail before things get better. As it is, even the big-name chain stores are starting to crumble. Things are getting pretty scary, and the chickenshit republicans still refuse to accept any responsibility and apologize to Americans.

Well said Daniel8168.I think I'll call myself Carolyn MD.No I didn't go to medical school or get a license but apparently that doesn't matter. The media would rather we keep dumbing ourselves down.If this low rent clown can continue to refer to himself as a plumber then I'll set my sights higher(no offense to real plumbers)I'll start to refer to myself as a doctor.

The only things that Joe the unlicenced plumber is qualified to write are ads for Massingil - seeing that he is the biggest do**he bag in the world.

You are certainly qualified to be an author. Speaking for myself, I would be very interested in reading a book based upon the experiences of a store owner who lost his business due to the crumbling economy. Joe the Plumber is not really from the workers. He is a free loading, tax evading bum!

If you do decide to write a book, yes I hope that you make a lot of money from it!
